I saw on facebook last night that someone was searching for they're lost 'pet' a russian boar. Is that legal if its considered an invasive species? I wanted to ask on the post but I didn't want to get chewed up by the facebook police. I also wanted to point out that there are parts of ontario where the MNR allows people to kill them, but I figured I'd be really upsetting people looking for this lost pet.

It's legal to have Wild Boar game farms that sell to restaurants, exotic pet zoos, etc...so if someone in those businesses allows family member to keep one as pet on the farm, that is probably legal but would fall under tight controls.
More context and the facts behind the to the story are needed or we'll end up going round and round with further speculation and 'what if' scenarios.
edit add;....it looks like the law governing exotic pets in Ont are left up to municipal by-laws...
yeah for sure.... Like I said, i almost commented on it and asked but figured I'd ask on here. Not trying to stir the pot on anything or turn this into a 12 page flame fest that ends up talking about cougars or something completely different. haha
