When did they stop doing that? What is offensive about it? When I was a Kid we had little plastic toys called Weebles, they came in male /female, black, white, and brown they all wobbled but they never fell down.

Society as a whole. Equality is happening, and some people are not happy about it. A minority of people want to keep things , status quo. For the majority , that is not good enough. Humanity can do better.
