For once we can agree and I can see today that there are many people in the policing profession that do not belong.

They do not belong because essentially they are cowards and they are scared. There is nothing worse IMHO than a scared police officer and if you don't have guts you simply should not be on the job.

I have witnesses hundred's on interactions on officers escalating the use of force before they even used the most useful simply talking a suspect down. In the USA it goes from a command to a handgun being used.

Now you have just created a whole new criminal class, if they are going to get shot anyway, they might as well shoot first.

I had a couple of drinks with friends I used to work with "on the job" who are now recently retired. Both were field training officers. What they told me was pretty unsettling. I don't know how well connected you still are or what information you're still privy to,but,police work as we knew it bears very little resemblance to how we were trained and executed our duties,in fact,neither you nor I would ever make it through the second part of the recruitment process. We're way too "hard a**" for today's politically correct hiring criteria.

LOL I know that I was to hard a--- back in the year 2000. But was the homicide rate as high as today, did we have gang bangers running amok and killing each other and the odd innocent. Nope.

The police even today with maybe a little military back up could sort these guys out in a matter of weeks, but we would have to send all the politicians and all the lawyers and all the media on a boat cruise for the same time period. LOL

The only problem is Trudeau doesn't want to loose all his votes from the criminals in the city. He's already lost the vote of most gun owners, allowing criminals to continue on their free reign of the city streets ensures future votes for the liberal party. Its easier to convince new Canadians and criminals to support a corrupt government.

My experience of criminals and believe me its extensive is that they do not vote, maybe you can show me evidence they are big voters. Lumping new Canadians with criminal's says a lot more about your outlook than I care to discuss.
We are all new Canadians unless you have aboriginal blood coursing thought your veins and I know you don't because you dislike them also.

Why did trudeau reverse mandatory minimum sentencing for gangsters, repeat offenders?
I have no problems with any race of people, what I don't supports is freeloaders that rape the system and pay zero taxes and contribute nothing to our country. If these are the people liberals support, its no wonder our country has gone to shyte and the billions of debt keep piling up higher by the day.

Can you articulate who you believe are freeloaders that rip the system off.

From my experience in the big city these people on a percentage basis are in the low percentage. Most new immigrants work very hard, pay their taxes and contribute to Canada.

Would you not be better targeting all the Big companies that operate here, making money but pay no taxes as they have their headquarters and bank accounts offshore.

This is where the big money is lost to Canadians.

Race means nothing at all to me. Prime example my wife's father has been a career alcoholic for decades, raping the system for disability because welfare didn't pay as well. Living in Toronto housing funded by working tax payers so his rent is cheaper. All the prescription meds he wanted as long as he go's to certain doctor and pharmacy. Received enough prescription drugs that he sold monthly to buy more booze. PSW,s daily babysitting and cleaning his filth daily to the point that now he's in LTC costing thousands more every month than previous. Bill C-75, currently before the House of Commons, calls for a whole raft of crimes to be treated under summary conviction.

That includes terrorism offences.

Participation in activity of terrorist group
Leaving Canada to participate in activity of terrorist group
Advocating or promoting commission of terrorism offences
Concealing person who carried out terrorist activity
Concealing person who is likely to carry out terrorist activity

These offences currently have sentences ranging from a maximum of five years to 14 years in prison.

Under Trudeau’s Bill C-75, that could be reduced to a maximum of six months in prison.

The changes being brought in by the Liberals allow for each of those offences to proceed via summary conviction. Under the criminal code, the rules are clear, maximum six months in jail.

787 (1) Unless otherwise provided by law, everyone who is convicted of an offence punishable on summary conviction is liable to a fine of not more than five thousand dollars or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding six months or to both.

Are these the actions of a government that takes terrorism seriously?

“Canada’s principles of justice, fairness, proportionality and restraint in sentencing — including an obligation in the Criminal Code to consider an individual’s Indigenous history — have been obliterated by mandatory minimum penalties,” Pate said.
