I think a lot of the bye law guys are pushing the limits, generally a bye law has no authority to arrest in it and they cannot really force you to identify yourself. The police could push things a little further with alleging your obstructing them in the enforcement of their duties which would be enforcing the bye laws. There have been lots of bye laws declared "ultra vires " by the court's in the past and I am sure a few of these new one's will be challenged.Quote:

If they are still active Police Act charges are in their future and rightfully so. Coppers do not get to make up the law.

This is just a bunch of former coppers mouthing off. Serving officers who get involved are open to charges under the Ontario Police Act for engaging in political activity. Not too interested what pensioners say from their arm chairs.
You may not be interested and may dismiss it but others quite possibly are concerned and nice to see career LEO's stepping up and sharing their knowledge with decades of policing experience. Never ignore gray power. They are a force to be reckoned with!Quote:
