A bylaw officer has no need to know who I am lol . The police a different story but if I feel they are in the wrong they don't need to know who I am unless I am drinking lol.
I have rights too and have no problem fighting them.

I think a lot of the bye law guys are pushing the limits, generally a bye law has no authority to arrest in it and they cannot really force you to identify yourself. The police could push things a little further with alleging your obstructing them in the enforcement of their duties which would be enforcing the bye laws. There have been lots of bye laws declared "ultra vires " by the court's in the past and I am sure a few of these new one's will be challenged.
Some common sense is needed a couple of Cops going hand to hand with a kid over a bye law infraction kinda defeats the old 6 foot rule as they struggle to handcuff the suspect.

If they are still active Police Act charges are in their future and rightfully so. Coppers do not get to make up the law.

Nope but they also can't enforce every law or have the resources to get everyone.
You know how many cops turn a blind eye on a daily?
Not worth the hassle why keep wasting their time ?

This is just a bunch of former coppers mouthing off. Serving officers who get involved are open to charges under the Ontario Police Act for engaging in political activity. Not too interested what pensioners say from their arm chairs.

You may not be interested and may dismiss it but others quite possibly are concerned and nice to see career LEO's stepping up and sharing their knowledge with decades of policing experience. Never ignore gray power. They are a force to be reckoned with!
I also consider your comment to be offensive and bordering on ageism. This site has many pensioners.

Ex-LEOs are stepping up not current officers. It won't be an Ex-LEO issuing the ticket. In summary this group is grumpy old men who used to be cops yelling at clouds.

This is what a peaceful protest looks like in Austria. Not that MSM would ever dare to report on it.
