The main reason the wife ordered Bell Satellite is Y & R which she misses. As for OTA, havent tried that yet, to many other projects. I have built HDTV antenna for my truck camper and it worked excellent. But really, I dont watch lots of TV, more YouTube then anything, but refuse to pay the premium price.

We got rid of traditional programming when we moved to the country. The first couple years we lived off an Android and Netfilx. Got sick of constantly having to update the Android and got rid of that as well. Can't ever imagine going back
Today: Netflix, Prime and Crave satisfies our needs.
We watch a lot of British programming. Far superior to trite, formulaic, where all cast members are ridiculously hot, North American programing. The epitome of shallow with only the rare exception.

Crave. No idea what we pay, I think $10-15 the missus wanted that. But pretty sure were coming in well under what I used to pay Bell/Rogers. And we aren't paying for a ton of crap we never tune into.
So even if the cost is a wash, still ahead of the game.
Honestly, there’s not enough time in the day for TV. We have a Netflix subscription we split with my siblings so that my kids get to watch cartoons. I do enjoy watching sports that I watch for free on the CBC app whenever hockey starts up again.
When you come home from work around 6, just in time for a quick dinner and shower and down time. It’s already 8 and by that time I’m zonked. A quick check online to see what’s new and off to bed. Repeat.
Yup, pretty sad the state of TV these days. We split a Bell subscription with my parents and brother - I’d never pay full price for this garbage. We watch a lot of hockey as a family and I like the news.
Most of our neighbours still have the old TV towers and I am told the reception up here in the Oak Ridges moraine was excellent back in the day. Digital antenna would likely work great.
With kids needing lots of internet for school this year we finally joined the rest of the world and got fibre and a smart tv.
Netflix went up, $19/month for the premium with movies. Prime is free with Amazon Prime but that still costs $8/month, Crave is $20/month if you want anything but the originals. So without making sure you have decent enough internet to be able to stream these, and unlimited internet to cover if you are looking at $47/month plus tax. Now tack on upgraded internet charges and you are not far off from a normal cable package.Quote:

You can get IPTV in Ottawa for 25 bucks and get more channels then anything Rogers or Bell could hope to offer.
