Well Joe, true to form, SIU is investigating this incident now. Hence, no information is being released. So as usual, people start supposin’, surmisin’ and making stuff up. We don’t know what the interaction with the officers was. If he threatened them and pointed the gun at them……..nobody is going to take the time to examine a gun pointed at you……

On the first news broadcast they interviewed the neighbor who says she says she saw the whole thing. She said the guy was pointing the gun at the officers and when told to put it down he didn't. Then they shot as they should have. She will be an interesting witness for the SIU.

One thing that needs to be recognized is - police have no obligation to protect you - the Supreme Court address this issue some time ago when someone tried to sue the police for not protecting them from a person - because of this many people - including me - feel that you better be prepared to protect yourself
