The first gun I trained on and a bunch of my brothers was a CIL 12 ga. Full choke 30 inch barrel over 50 years ago, my Dad figured two important things as to why that gun , safety and shot placement ! With only one shot you learned how to kill , also with only one shot you couldn't get trigger happy as you had to wait for the old man to hand you another shell. Oh sure in time we got pretty good at quick reloads but "one shot, one kill" was ingrained in us. I have an old Cooey .22 LR single shot that my grandkids can learn on.
