The Ultra Shield odour is citronella.
I solve the odour issue by having all my gear hung or set outside when I spray, then leave it out for 3-4 hours after spraying. That seems to get rid of the odour.
I then bag my 2-piece camo suit, hat and gloves in a tied garbage bag, and just put them on when I get to the farm, and rebag them as soon as I get back to the car. That seems to keep the permethrin effective for at least 3-4 weeks before I need to respray.
Hi John. There is no scent that I can tell. I also use during deer season and hasnt caused any problems.

This one is pretty good. No smell
Applied once in couple of months, but needs to be aired out after application
Thanks everyone, I did get a bottle of Ultra Shield from Peavey Mart. Good to know it works.
Another thing to keep in mind is that some populations of dog ticks are showing signs of resistance to permethin. Don't know if it's a problem out here yet but I know they've been seeing resistant ticks in the southern US for a little while now.
Same deal as head lice. Exposure to non lethal doses is allowing them to build immunity to the stuff.
My problem with that is the dose is only 0.35%. Seems a little light from my research. Most products meant to keep ticks off your clothes are 0.5%. Perhaps just need to apply more often. I'm sure it works for the intended application but not sure its enough for hunting clothes.
