Moose draw...can someone explain?

Yes I mean an archery season before the gun hunt!

Most of the guys hunting in these "before the gun hunt - archery seasons" were gun hunters that made the transistion to try something different. Hunt the rut, wear camo, better weather, more elbow room, whatever!
Just the fact that they voluntarily LEFT the gun hunt makes more room and less competion for the die hard GUN HUNTERS.
AND if in fact the success rate for these same bowhunters is less then GUN hunters and they're happy with that. Then who suffers? No one. Outfitters, gas stations, grocery stores, etc etc add 3 more weeks on to the MOOSE HUNT CASH FLOW. And the best part is the MNR/GOV'T can still issue tags and get revenue!

Why this is not accross the board in all units is NUTS!

That's an interesting concept that might be worth investigating further. I sure agree with the "bag of hammers" comment.

Does anybody know who or how to complain about this sort of situation?

And bowhunters pay the same for licenses as the gun guys. And they stay at the same camps, pay the same for gas, drive the same distances. etc etc ..

Why are not all units open to bowhunting. Especially in this day and age! Bowhunting is not something "new".

More bowhunters would mean fewer gun hunters as guys make the transformation.

A lower bow success rate seems logical to me that the MNR would be promoting this everywhere!

And in some WMU the archery only season tags come from the gun season tags known as Combined Quotas only certain WMU have a separate draw for gun and for bow.

My guess for the same amount of tags drop each is because that is when "non-residents" will come in hunt. In the gun season, not the bow season and that is where the MNR will make their money.
