Most of the guys hunting in these "before the gun hunt - archery seasons" were gun hunters that made the transistion to try something different. Hunt the rut, wear camo, better weather, more elbow room, whatever!
Just the fact that they voluntarily LEFT the gun hunt makes more room and less competion for the die hard GUN HUNTERS.
AND if in fact the success rate for these same bowhunters is less then GUN hunters and they're happy with that. Then who suffers? No one. Outfitters, gas stations, grocery stores, etc etc add 3 more weeks on to the MOOSE HUNT CASH FLOW. And the best part is the MNR/GOV'T can still issue tags and get revenue!
Why this is not accross the board in all units is NUTS!
