the whole fur market is in turmoil right now , last years price structure , warm conditions in the buying regions oversees , Chinese import tax problems and overproduction of ranch mink worldwide have all created this problem , the fur market today is not the same as it was years ago , things change much more quickly and the market rises and falls much quicker , The bulk of the North American raccoon harvest ends up in Russia as an end use , even if the garment was produced in Greece or China , it's been a long time since this amount of coon showed up on a sale and I'm afraid it's not going to be good , just hazarding a guess that about 200,000 of those coon are in dealer price protected lots , but my contacts south of the border tell me there are a pile of coon sitting in small country dealer hands as well as larger production trappers , I'm sitting on a fair number of coon myself and after seeing the writing on the wall I decided to gamble and hold these coon , we shall see if I should have sold or if my holding them will help me over the longer outlook
