I had the mnr visit us on nippising this year. The guy was in our hut for ten minutes asking how long we were up and how many how big. The was asking same questions differently to confirm our story. I was with a cop and he saw tin so I guess he figured he must have been breaking some law!
The guy checking buddy's hut next door failed to notice 4 on the ice 1 in the pan. I gave the guys a lesson about possesion limits are daily not all u can eat.

the guy said there were only110 c o for the province so your odd of seeing them r slim. Would probably get better results if they blitzed areas hard and rechecked two hours later
Thats actually true... In the last few years I've seen several cheaters who are fully equipped, machines, vexes, expensive gear, etc. They run four lines and If I mention it, they play dumb, but you can tell they are lying... Not people you would guess were poachers!Quote:

They were out on Aylen and Bark lake as well. Buddy bumped into them on Aylen.
Just heard of a group that got checked on a back lake. Never heard the sled coming. Nailed for too many lines, no fishing license. Let off on the sled insurance, and ownership. Probably would have been worse if they had any fish.....
The MNR should have waited till next weekend because Simcoe closes this Saturday at midnight for most species and the ice fishermen that need their fix will be heading up to the Haliburton lakes. In past years by I've seen many fishermen that usually only fish Simcoe with 2 lines on a 1 line lake and Lakers on the ice that are in the slot. Check the regs before you venture out onto the ice to fish.
