I ate bear once. Loved it.
I have heard skinning a bear is a nasty job for some reason. Maybe the amount of fat.
Bear is my number 1.......keep them in the 200 lbs range and you're good to go. Tender and tasty!
Don't forget to keep the fat if you can and render it down to oil at a nice low heat. It's a very fine oil. It has almost no smell, makes the best pastries, and is a great leather conditioner. Also lots of belief in its ability to help treat arthritis by lubricating the joints when used topically.
I've used a turkey roaster on a bbq and it works well. Just run it through a paint filter or cheesecloth once it has cooled down some. It lasts a long time at room temp. I never have tried to refrigerate it but I guess it would last even longer.

Bears are harder to drag and a bit tougher to hang than deer due to the lack of handles but super easy to skin when warm.
Bears also do not resemble a human when skinned and hanging. One would have to have quite the imagination to make that assumption.

Shot 2 both smaller tasted very good! Had another guy in gang shoot a little one and we roasted it hole was like pork. Guy at work shot one over 400 last fall tasted like
