Today...there are thousands of indigenous children being taken, by the CAS, from the mother at birth. The mother is unfit for a variety of reasons) and the placed in foster homes off the reservations. There are presently 15,000 in the system.

Many children are removed from their homes by CSA due to the deplorable conditions as we see in the video. They would never learn their culture and language and it wasn't the fault' of the colonists, it was the fault of the Indigenous themselves...The old saying it takes a village to raise a child, I guess the reservation is not a very good village.

I don't see how that is a 'different' dilemma. If the issue is the kids were being stripped of the language and culture....it's still being done but by the Indigenous themselves.

Something else: Many of the 150,000 kids that passed thru the residential school system went on to having very fulfilling lives because they could speak English and had got a good education. Many went on to colleges and Universities and became successful professionals. I meet some that I worked with in Northern Manitoba....ones who returned back to their culture to help.

Their lives were altered by the intervention when they were struggling to stay alive.

Many with the help from the Government and the Canadian taxpayers, who provide them free housing and schooling at Universities and Colleges, went on to continue their education across the country.

I don't see that as a bad thing, at least I for one, am not to be made feel guilty for it one Day a year.

I'm glad it is finally confirmed out in the open. At least these two things:

- Trudeau's words mean nothing, once again he just says the right things, but his actions pretty much state he really doesn't care.
- The Truth and Reconciliation Day is purely a day for the government to enjoy as a day off, to holiday. The rest of us ... we have to keep working, while they enjoy that additional long weekend.

exactly what I did all Thursday Morning duck, afternoon grouse and rabbit and finished with evening hunt for duck. Haven't carried gun for a whole day since I left the army.lol
