Not to worry. The Toronto star has lawyers in front of a judge petitioning to release all information right? I mean the public has to be involved with every step of an ongoing investigation no?
No, not really. The investigators will not release information that may jeopardize the investigation. They have to be very careful now, with the advent of social media. Information now is instantaneous. The suspects could very well be monitoring news releases and any other information bits that get reported. But, if there were any public safety issues, those would certainly be released.
Absolutely. You wouldn't believe the extremes the Police use to protect information. That was the main reason all communications went "digital" many years ago. What's heard by people using a scanner doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. Actually, scanners are completely redundant. You might hear stuff on the "C&D" channel when the gang heads to Tim Horton's,but, that's about all.
You didn't pickup on my sarcasm. I find this now normal need to have all information hit the media seconds after it happens likely counter productive in investigations. People do not "need" to know 90% of the stuff that gets printed unless there truly is a public safety issue.
There are already all kinds of uninformed idiots out there declaring what are likely false and cruel to the deceased families statements. Let the damned police do their jobs and lets hope they catch this murderer. I hope it isn't some nutbar antihunter. In this F'd up world you never know.
If rob ford was there all info would of been released...
The speculations in this thread are quite amusing :)
Normally, the police would release the identity of the victim after next of kin were notified. In this case next of kin were notified yesterday (according to CTV) but police didn't identify the victim until after it leaked out through the grapevine to the media. That kind of secrecy fuels speculation which of course leads to worst case scenarios....
There could be any number of scenarios here of course and speculation is futile. According to the G&M, Eva Frigo escaped with minor injuries and she did not know who the attacker was. One suspects, however, that all is hush-hush because the cops have very little to go on.
