The fuel economy might be great, but how much did you have to pay to get to that? Unless it's a business write-off, is the added cost really worth it?

Yep i'll stick with my 08 Yukon over any Ford any day of the week!
For the frugal shopper;
I picked up this dealer maintained 4x4 97 Chev truck at an estate auction this summer for $3200. Only had 170k on it, also came with a tonneau cover and an extra set of wheels (winter). Cleared safety no surprises.

It replaced the 91 Sierra I had bought back in 2007 for $4500...

I have spent less on my trucks than the guys at camp pay in taxes on their new trucks :)
edit add: I should also add, that when I was having the safety done on the new one I had the mech pull up my repair/work history on the 91..it was just over $2200 over the 7 yrs I owned it..so in total that truck amortized, out cost me about $1k a year.
The premium for the diesel is $3500 over the hemi I don't think it was that bad. Also someone mentioned that it is a pentastar diesel, that is incorrect, it is a 3 litre diesel made in Italy, has something to do with a joint Fiat/Chrysler venture. not a new engine just a new use.
This truck is the big horn package with all kinds of fun stuff and it priced out the door Just under $50K heated everything, NAV, tow package, integrated ebrake all the bells and whistles, just not leather or the air suspension (probably some others). its a lot of money no doubt but I think it priced the same as the rest.
Funny thing I had one for a test drive and the Ram guy said if I was towing to buy the Hemi and that the Eco-diesel was for driving not towing so much! Nice truck though.
