Squirrel Hunting

Beg borrow or buy a live trap and get it out of there, squirrels are notorious for chewing the insulation on the wiring in attics and causing fires when the wiring shorts out.
In my 30 years as a "Firefighter" I can think of 7 attic/house fires that our platoon alone had to extinguish. Luckily the home owners had smelled the smoldering and called the fire dept. before they erupted and caused some very serious damage.
Oh and by the way , in all cases the squirrels were very dead as the were electrocuted.

DO NOT POISON THEM! They will die in your attic and then you're in for a treat. Get rid of them asap, nuisance and a danger to your house.

Nah, its my sense of humour not you.
I think I just phrased it wrong, I meant hunting them more sportingly, not for sport. Spot and stalk rather than baiting. There is more challenge in it that way and I find it more rewarding. Pertaining to squirrel hunting and nothing else, different game require different tactics.

Buy a live trap from Canadian tire and catch them now before they have babies otherwise you will be stuck with them for most of the summer. Once you have no more in the attic seal the entry point well and you should be OK. Not sure about killing and eating said squirrels as its not currently squirrels season. If you lived in the country this obviously would not be an issue.
If in doubt hire a pro and let them deal with it otherwise we may read about some Savage in Mississauga killing and eating squirrels living in his attic. Lol
