We just returned from upland hunting north of Sudbury. Woodcock were still there, but not in great concentrations. We had 22 WC flushes in 3 days and 5 grouse flushes. Grouse numbers seemed to have bottomed out in that region, never saw a single bird on the roads.

Moved eight woodcock today in the rain still local birds I think .
Did not see any at Hullet these past two days.

Hullet the last three weeks, I put up 4, 6, and today 5. These are either locals or just a few birds moving through. But it's still just early October and I don't expect to see a lot of birds this early.
Not seeing any numbers yet in Simcoe County. This was the only one I flushed this morning.
