We just returned from upland hunting north of Sudbury. Woodcock were still there, but not in great concentrations. We had 22 WC flushes in 3 days and 5 grouse flushes. Grouse numbers seemed to have bottomed out in that region, never saw a single bird on the roads.

Forecast of 21'c all the way to Thunderbay with no cold snaps forecasted has them stalled. Was out Friday and moved the same few birds. In a typical season Thanksgivening would have me out everyday this year going to spend a bit more family time as next week is looking better.

Hullet the last three weeks, I put up 4, 6, and today 5. These are either locals or just a few birds moving through. But it's still just early October and I don't expect to see a lot of birds this early.
