Been around the criminal justice system for enough years , as have you Trimmer, to know the variety of errors that can be made in a variety of ways. Even an eye witness mistakes who they thought they saw for SURE, and what they thought they saw for Sure.

Right....eyewitness evidence is some of the least reliable.

Oh,no,on the contrary. They biggest fallacy in the entire world of law enforcement and jurisprudence is that forensic science and DNA technology is infallible. It's only as good as the people gathering evidence and technicians processing it. Too many errors are showing up in too many trials.

Just google "forensics fail."

Lots of cases where forensics have nabbed the wrong person. Not usually DNA related but lots of cases where hair, teeth marks, tracks etc.. have been used incorrectly. Even DNA though can have issues:

Seventy-three of the labs got it wrong, saying the suspect's DNA was part of the mix when, in fact, it was not. “It’s the Wild West out there,” Coble says. “Too much is left to the analysts’ discretion.”

Lots of examples given and I gave a list of wrongfully imprisoned, many of those based on the same sciences.

Even in war lives are taken by friendly fire, it happens, and it's unfortunate that it does, but it happens. But if there is no capital punishment, where is the deterrent. The way I see it, an eye for an eye if there's no undisputed evidence that say's otherwise...

If someone takes a like it's no difference than war and should be treated as such...

So friendly fire is ok? What if it is your brother or sister that was killed with friendly fire? Are you ok with that?

Now, your brother or sister is killed by the state because they look like someone who committed a horrible crime and they were picked out of a lineup, are you ok with this?
