You never answered how the the stolen goods got setup on you yard and maintained. From the neighbors properly then had a fake renters and their stuff stolen to only be set up just inside your property. Its few hundred ft in.
You know it's not technically yours if it was a mistake. Even if it's on your property .
You would be the thief if you did nothing to find the owner .But hey if you try and find out what happened and can't well then you scored. Sounds like you already have your story made up . IMO, something is not right with this situation. Anyone going through all that expense and effort to set up the spot probably thinks it's legitimate for them to be there. There is always 2 sides to a story and we have not heard the other side or heard all the facts.
In any case, I would not take possession of someone else's property even if it's on my property as it's not mine! Its stealing. Leave a note with your phone # for them to remove the equipment if they are indeed trespassing by intent or by mistake.
