It seems to me that while you claim that you have no problem with being checked, you obviously have an issue with the length of time it takes a CO to do their job. They don't know you from anyone else in the world and they don't know who they are dealing with when they approach you. While you seem to be the type of person who stringently obeys the law (not a criticism, just a fact that I don't know you other than you posting online), there are plenty of guys out there that don't and who have not been caught yet. The CO doesn't know if he is dealing with a law abiding hunter or poacher who hasn't been caught yet.
