I'm not sure the duck comparison is a good one. There are limited spots to put a duck blind on a lake. If everyone constructs a blind the spot becomes an eyesore. I'd suggest thats why it's first come first occupied. Goose hunting permission is often just granted for the night you ask the landowner. Different set of rules iMO.
I think you'd be justified in hunting the deer farther away from their setup and bait pile. 200 yards away for example. Public land is limited and staking it out by putting up a ground blind and a bait pile does RESERVE your spot. It's similar to the ethics of sitting in someone's ladderstand on public land.
So. . If 10 people but bait piles in this particular 50 acre tract I guess I can't hunt there? As it's own theirs? Really? That's the most idiotic.theory ever....Quote:

I'm going to hazard a guess here but I think this is more a southern Ontario thing with such a small amount of crown land. Even in the Ottawa area I have never had an issue with crown land people seem to respect each others active hunting spot and the further north you go there is no reason to hunt where you see someone else is actively hunting.
I don't understand why you would start such a thread as you already have your mind set. Use their bait and blind so you don't have to pay for it or whatever but don't be surprise if there is consequences.
