Leaving decoys out when you're not hunting is douchey at best.

I'm not sure the duck comparison is a good one. There are limited spots to put a duck blind on a lake. If everyone constructs a blind the spot becomes an eyesore. I'd suggest thats why it's first come first occupied. Goose hunting permission is often just granted for the night you ask the landowner. Different set of rules iMO.
I think you'd be justified in hunting the deer farther away from their setup and bait pile. 200 yards away for example. Public land is limited and staking it out by putting up a ground blind and a bait pile does RESERVE your spot. It's similar to the ethics of sitting in someone's ladderstand on public land.

So. . If 10 people but bait piles in this particular 50 acre tract I guess I can't hunt there? As it's own theirs? Really? That's the most idiotic.theory ever....
This particular tract of land has a tree stand practical every hundred yards.. today I was there I counted 15 different bait stands setup...
I can't be more than 300yds from any bait stand... so I guess this bush I been Hunting very regular for the few years and I spend a lot of time preseason scouting on is off limits as a few people decided it's there bush?
Oh.. BTW I never see anyone Hunting these bait piles... with were all fully today...

It's the same thing, even moreso. If no one is using it,set up and enjoy. If someone shows up,it's their turn to "move on".

Same deal, topher. If no one is around,I'd hunt it in a heartbeat. Setting up a bunch of stands to monpolize or lay claim to an area is BS.

I agree... using someone's property. .. pop up blind or purchased stand is off limits.. but a bait pile... or a built tree stand (especially when they are prohibited in the forests) open season. ..

I'm going to hazard a guess here but I think this is more a southern Ontario thing with such a small amount of crown land. Even in the Ottawa area I have never had an issue with crown land people seem to respect each others active hunting spot and the further north you go there is no reason to hunt where you see someone else is actively hunting.

I don't understand why you would start such a thread as you already have your mind set. Use their bait and blind so you don't have to pay for it or whatever but don't be surprise if there is consequences.

I am going to put a bench I made in my local park, that way I always have my spot. No need to get there early for the fireworks or the local concerts. My park bench will reverse my spot for me.

Even though I do not agree, I will throw one out there, .......flat tires on your truck when you come out. Some folks are very protective of the spots they think they have exclusive use of.
