I am also very aware of there destructive capabilities, but you also have to understand that they will not can not live where there is no protective cover for them. They are bush / scrub growth swamp loving animals , and farms without that type of habitat should have very little to fear.Quote:

This is what I am told by a friend that comes from the U.S. where they have been for years, according to him , where the problem lies and they get very over populated is in areas where the landowners are charging exorbitant fees to hunt their land which a lot of hunters do not want to pay and yet these landowners are complaining very loudly about all the damage done.
This just doesn't make sense.

Until people see the damage up close and personal,they really have no concept what a sounder of hogs can do to a field of crops. They have the disposition of junk yard dogs and are a particularly nasty species for horse riders,hikers and dog walkers to meet while enjoying their nature activities. My BIL says that they're worse than Bears. There's no such thing as warning growls and false charges with those things. Once they start coming at you,you need to shoot fast and don't miss.Quote:
