Some one has that "Chicken Little Syndrome " the sky is falling, the sky is falling! also making mountains out of mole hills.
I agree with your statement on deer and boar living together but wild hogs coming into Ontario is going to be a mountain for sure, worth being very concerned about, an extremely destructive invasive species.

Actually they do know how I feel about wild boar. You may want to sit down for this, I even understand the damage they do.
Bring on the pigs!

I am also very aware of there destructive capabilities, but you also have to understand that they will not can not live where there is no protective cover for them. They are bush / scrub growth swamp loving animals , and farms without that type of habitat should have very little to fear.
Pigs live where protective cover is close by and do not travel great distances to feed.
This is what I am told by a friend that comes from the U.S. where they have been for years, according to him , where the problem lies and they get very over populated is in areas where the landowners are charging exorbitant fees to hunt their land which a lot of hunters do not want to pay and yet these landowners are complaining very loudly about all the damage done.
This just doesn't make sense.

Hey Big Jack ; I told my partners if they see one when we're bear hunting we only need a small game licence & to drop him. BTW, hope you mend soon.

Until people see the damage up close and personal, they really have no concept what a sounder of hogs can do to a field of crops. They have the disposition of junk yard dogs and are a particularly nasty species for horse riders, hikers and dog walkers to meet while enjoying their nature activities. My BIL says that they're worse than Bears. There's no such thing as warning growls and false charges with those things. Once they start coming at you,you need to shoot fast and don't miss.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

There are lots of videos on you tube showing driven hunts where red stag, roe deer, (which are pretty small) and even moose along with boar are emerging from the bush on the drive. They seem to get along fine in Europe.
I’m not advocating for the wanton release or introduction of a non native species, but I don’t think it’s the end of days either.

Very true, & well proven all over Europe. Controlling the wild boar by hunting is key. Well understood, & taken seriously .
BTW, I was just told I will not be able to go hunt in a certain area I have access to down there. New restrictions are in place to protect the local wild boar population, weakened & dispersed due to the excessive hunting. Will have to find another place now.

Very true, they have been in Europe for ages and Europeans do not get to excited about them over running the country side, they are controlled by hunting.
My parents came from central Europe, Poland back in 1928 there were boars around back then , they are still there and hunted and not expanding themselves out of their territories like most here claim will happen. My relatives over there say the still see them and people from Canada and the U.S. come over there to hunt them and they are controlled.

I'll go old school.. legal in every park in town too.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
