That's not a conventional storage arrangement, so a question arises: what is the standard of care? Ought there to be an alarm system, for example?
The Crown took the view that the storage arrangement did not meet the standard of care.
Not a concern in "normal" situations. Many people have break-ins, lose guns, and are not charged. I've met & talked to some.
