That is very strange behavior for deer :scream::scream: !! Are these deer domesticated? No way would a normal deer allow a human to get that close to it.
That's in a Green Belt area just out side the National Capital. It's a place where deer have been living without fear for generations...it's like a Zoo. You can stand along the fencing and they will come up to you.Quote:

Nice and yes, I can also walk within 10 yards of deer in my backyard. The hand that feeds them.
As MikePal mentioned, this is part of the Greenbelt in Ottawa - a massive swath of wilderness that is open to the public and off-limits to hunting. There are no fences (for the most part in the Greenbelt) and deer are free to roam wherever they please. This particular location I am the only human. It is where I do some of my shed hunting and photography work, as well as hike and utilize the trail cams. This doe and fawn I have been photographing and filming since mid-July. Knowing the area I am at, I am the first and only human the little one has crossed paths with. And yes, the more time I spent with the two of them, the more at ease they became with me. And that has nothing to do with the cedar piles I put out - that only started up again for the winter as of a few weeks ago. Each deer is different. One or two bucks I can get quite close to; others flee the minute they see me from a mile away. It all depends.
So, to sum it up: not my background, not fenced in, and 100% wild deer. But, public land whitetail that aren't hunted do become much more comfortable with humans. Think Presquille Park.
