Depending on how things play out over the coming months, I for sure can see these kinds of organizations gaining a lot of steam.
We're already seeing tame protest here ( BBQ ) and in Quebec. Across the pond there have been less than tame protest and numerous revolts.

Local councilors hooking up with this bunch risk signing their own political death warrants. Hillier had no impact on Ford when he was in the PC caucus and is going to have even less with Max Max, the bigot Sloan and a couple of rural tub-thumpers from Nowhereville, Ontario.

When enough are vaccinated. Like it or not, for the time being that’s the end goal/line.

Between now and then, it’s my suspicion based on human behavior, the protest, are going to get worse. In nature and volume.

Have to call a spade a spade here. Much of this was set in motion by the previous administration. Sleep Joe can't really be blamed for anything that happened in the past 2 to 3 months. You cannot stop this virus like a light switch. Any change in policy and how things are handled will take 3 to 6 months to start dominating the figures/stats.

At the moment, the focus is on vaccination ... and I'm not sure what more Sleepy Joe can do.

I agree warp speed will have it's benefits. In the meantime, I think Trumps error was treating the virus like it was nothing ... I think he should have cautioned people a bit more, wear masks, social distance ... keep business going with rules in place to slow the spread in the meantime ... I think that's where people blame him ... he was just to cavalier with the virus ... and honestly, I think that's what cost him the presidency. Too many people (even Republicans) lost loved ones to COVID, and became instant opposition to Trump ... if Trump was a bit more sympathetic to those individuals ... I honestly think he would have retained the presidency.

However since you have taken to talking about this a little research will show its of very little use and should not have been approved.

That is true I don't dispute the numbers but I have a friend who is 85yrs young lives on his own and is in good health put it to me this way. Half of those that died in LTC homes was probably a blessing and were wanting to die anyway as most have no quality of life left or dignity. He himself carries DNR every where he goes as if the situation were to arise he would rather pass than be resuscitated and put in a LTC facility depending on someone to take care of his personal needs and l most certainly understand his point of view as I wouldn't want to be in that situation either having someone feed me or clean my back side what kind of life is that. Not one I would want.

The majority of the population which is over 90% will brush off covid as simply mild symptoms. No need for any medical treatments other than bedrest and over the counter medication. I hear you brother but the reality for folk's is so very different put yourself in the shoes of a struggling hard working immigrant (yes they exist) lets say from Syria who has a wife and a couple of kids to support. He lives in a 2 bedroom apartment in a high rise with bunch of other folk's all taking the elevator to their floor. He takes a bus to a low paying factory job in Brampton where he must show up or lose his job. He gets no sick time or benefits if he takes ill.

So I am in the same area retired, I live in a big 4 bedroom home, only have to go out if I need to, I have full medical benefits.
If I go out I take my car and if I needed I could order my food to my door. Big difference.

I know someone that spent April-August working in LTCs. The majority, the vast majority are there for reasons and on borrowed time. As he put it, "we are often the only ones spend time with them, and many it's a blassing". I know my father, long before cancer took him, let us and his friends know, he'd rather go out like the deer he hunted than waste away on a hospital bed. So with respect to 500,000 American dead. The perspective in terms of the sheer number is comparable to the 4 years it took of war. Just picture the cemeteries' like Arlington, and across the pond.

Think about how the elderly live, whether in LTCs or not. 2020 is or was cagging them like rats to die.......We treat our freaking pets better..
The failure to protect the vulnerable is squarely on health officials, politicians, many in healthcare, and many in the electorate.

And despite all the pain, Gilroys have not working class immigrant working class family, and many many more who prior to 2020 didn't have it so good, and despite the now years it will take to "recover". When lockdowns infringe on the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms it becomes a federal issue.
The federal government needs to issue an order to the provinces to cease and desist.

Fundamental freedoms – section 2

If it is a Charter violation it would be up to the courts to issue an order to "cease and desist." If Trudeau tried it unilaterally the provinces could and probably would tell him to get stuffed.
