Bull Moose left to rot!!!

Bull Moose left to rot today two hundred feet beside Hwy 560!
MNRF called.
Nose, tongue and filet mignon is all that was taken.
I guess it died too far from the Hwy.
Totally disgusting, makes me sick….!

I recall a similar find last year, where the only thing taken was the nose, tongue and back straps….strange for sure.

Poachers for sure. I've seen deer that have been left without backstraps they leave the rack and everything. holes. I guess they wanna shoot something and just take the backstraps quickly because they get paranoid. Quick cut throw it in the truck and your gone. Thats my best guess.

Depending which way the investigation goes but im thinking even if they find the people responsible the mnr wont be able to do anything.

The big part in cases like this is to find the person responsible person. Witnesses and evidence (e.g.fired bullet) is required. Wasting flesh suitable for food is intolerable no matter who is responsible. In my experience, indigenous communities support charges against members who commit these acts. Having said that, many communities are moving towards their own justice systems (justice circle) for some offences.

The pic tells the story along with evidence. Bullet hole....backstraps cut out not tenderloins and moose nose cartiledge and tongue.....

That moose picture does not resemble a carcass being eaten by any predators or scavenger s that I've come across

Tenderloin, backstrap, filet mignon = get used to describe basically the same area.

The game warden did a thorough investigation.
Hopefully someone seen something, it’s a well travelled Hwy.

It’s a fresh flat wide open cut over.
Whoever shot it seen it walk away and drop 200 feet from the edge of the Hwy. They then went and cut a few piece of choice meat.
Game Warden figured the same thing.

Yes this is not a new thing, for some, if they drop too far from the road they don’t bother hauling it out.
