Calling for rain so not looking good, booked the week off so hopeing at least a couple of sunny days to get them going.
Usually work Saturday as seems to be the most competitive day.
I booked a week off for turkey as well
Rain or shine - will be there.

yes rain forecast for opener, that is why I put a tent out, for those days I want to hunt and it rains. heading out tomorrow to put the tent up. Over the years I have taken 3 turkeys from the tent in the rain. Makes for an ugly picture.
I booked off the week so ill be out. All depends how bad its calling for rain.
Yup, looking forward to opening day of my first turkey season.
I’ll be out trying my Primos Surround View blind. I like hunting from a blind because I can go out no matter what the weather is doing. I often take out less experienced or new hunters and this hides their movements. The weather forecast is changing so much these days, it’s really hard to predict what we’ll get. Good luck everyone.
I also love hunting opening day, just something about listening to that first tom of the year gobble
I’ll be out ground so wet here
deer crazy amount their molting now just watched 14 new pup was very whiny deer didn’t care

Looks like rain coming around my turkey grounds. If it doesn't change by Sunday I might just go to work and save that vac day for another. I love the opener and have sat in the rain too many times. I know people have been successful in the rain but I rather save the day and enjoy it when its better weather.
I will not be out on the opener, waiting for my son, a buddy and his son to arrive on the 29th. We will, however, all be out the 30th, whatever the weather. Last year I hunted the opener alone, and heard 6 shots before I got my opening day tom. The next day a buddy and I doubled, so I was tagged out by 6:30 am day 2. I regretted the quick end of my own season, but I was able to hunt (call for) others, so it was still a great year.
No opener for me, travelling Thursday, hunting Fri, Sat and Sun.
Travel back on Monday.
Good luck every one.
Not really sure this year.
My Turkey hunting spot is over an hour away (the joys of living in Essex county!). :(
Fuel prices have doubled since last season. With my slob RAM truck it will be $50.00 in fuel per trip. I think I will focus on walleye fishing in the Detroit river and prepare for our spring bear hunt! :)
Good luck for those that will chase the Spring thunder! :)
I have always made it a personal tradition to get out on opening morning … love hearing the first gobbles opening morning!!
However, doesn’t look like I will make this year’s opener - just tested positive for Covid yesterday. 😩
Mild symptoms so far, but at age 74, who knows what will come.
Hoping its just a mild case and I can get out in 10 days or so.
Good luck to all those getting out on the 25th!
Maybe go out first day or 2 just to run the birds off the property my brother hunts before he gets back from the west coast. He seems to enjoy doing it to the wildlife in my hunting spots.
Seen more turkeys today than I have since last fall
I'm starting to have second thoughts on going out for the opener. I put my blind out yesterday, figuring on a place to sit in the rain, but now the wind is going to be high and straight into my face. On the bright side, there were 2 jakes in front of where I put up my blind and where I put my other camera there was another bird way off along the bush.
@cantgetright i have a brother, same way. When we used to duck hunt me and a buddy used to nickname him “greenpeace” because when he was there all the ducks were safe. Couldn’t hit a barnwall from the inside.
We had a monster tom with a very long beard strut into our backyard this morning. Chances of seeing him three days from now? Slim. I'll be going out anyway but I'm starting to think turkeys are taunting me. LOL.

We are getting close
I keep checking the weather, now winds are not to bad and rain starts after legal time, so will have time to get into the tent before the rain starts which works for me.
