Brought home a new little girl today. Introducing Stella... she'll be 9 weeks old tomorrow. Just came home today. Pups always have so much potential (before we screw em up lol). Hoping I can get her into some woodcock around end of October (no guns of course). Jake is indifferent but Hank the chihuahua is not very impressed by the new addition.
Small Münsterländer? Looking nice. Like the name some of the best dogs are named Stella. :thumbup:
Yes she is. I hunt over her mother so i am excited to see what this little one has to offer. No big plans this fall. Maybe try to get her into some woodcock without a gun. Other than that she's just keeping my wife warm on the couch.Quote:

No matter how old we get, a new pup will put a spring in your stride and get you laughing out loud as they attempt to master life in your household and field. Good luck and many many years together.
There is no better guarantee that you will like what the dog will become than experience of hunting with the parents. If you like them you will like the pup. Just like people "the apple never falls far from the tree". All the best with her!

Huh! I own a mother and a pup, what a difference! The mom is 'once in a lifetime dog', the pup is a total screw up, that's why serious breeders keep the pup for at least 6 months to see what they shape like.Quote:

She’s cute. Hope she serves you well. She looks just like my pup, but it has a white ear.
I adopted him less than a year ago, and it was initially my ESA, Emotional Support Animal, because my therapist recommended I get one. At first, I thought it was a bad idea because I could take care of myself and didn’t want to take responsibility for the dog. But, I still decided to adopt one and see how it went.
Now we are best friends, and he does help me with my emotional struggle. Dogs are great at providing emotional support, and we have a great time together.

Stella's starting to get some legs on her now. She's 15 weeks and has been enjoying terrorizing Jake as he searches for birds lol. She sure does look good though...

thanks for updating, she is looking good. How old are pups before they are trained enough to take out for a hunt? Will you be able to hunt with her this season?
