Here are a few of the foam poppers I have been tying. I've spent most of my summer catching bass on these things! :fish: http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/...psbcd9a94a.jpg

those look deadly
They look great.
Very nice, is that a clear coat on the body/foam?
very nice! showing that off during hard water season is a tease!
I know right! I suffer the long wait also, but when I do get out and fish them I have a blast.

man every year I want to get a kayak and it gets put off for other goods.... I hope to get one soon. want to flyfish for pike/bass on a kayak!
Great video!
What weight of rod and leader setup are you throwing your poppers with? I've had some struggles throwing larger poppers on my 6wt.
I am using two rods, both are 9' 8wt's. I do not use bass tapered leaders, nor do I use tippets when I use my poppers. I do use a loop-to-loop connection right to my float line. I measure the length of my leaders by my arm span, and use mostly 8lb line. This is what works for me. What set up are you using?
I use a 6wt rod, with a bass weight fwd mainline, and have been experimenting with leaders and tippet combos (size and length). I picked up some furled leaders specifically tapered for bass poppers. I'm not sure my 6wt is ideal for the large poppers I've been trying to tie/use.
Those look awesome man! fishing poppers is a blast.
What was your most productive colour way?

Getting ready to start making some new poppers. This one is from a while ago. I didn't want to repost another thread relating to foam poppers, so I posted it here.

Fine job. I used to use poppers for catching smallies on the small bays on Lake Huron.
I didn't want to start another thread for the poppers I made, so I thought I would just continue to post them here. This is just one of many to come. http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/...ps26569234.jpg
Those look great! Love the last one!
Nice work,I cant wait to see the fish they catch
Here is another foam popper I finished this long weekend. It's not the best, but it will still catch bass.

Trying a new pattern this year I found online. It's called the Gurgler.

These are the poppers I'll be using this bass season. I still have two more to finish with weed guards.

Newbie, what type of foam ,do you use. Is it fairly dense, so you can shape it. I used to have a popper , probably balsa, with feathers . pike and bass loved it. can you get foam at a craft store, Looking good old 243
Nice kit .. It looks like you've been stealing a lot of your wife's nail polish :)
Those look great guys, cant wait to see the end results.
I buy the kits at Bass Pro, they are called Perfect Poppers and come in a wide variety of styles. I buy one kit of each and take my time tying them. I do sand and prep them a little before I make them, but I don't change the shape much, but with a file or sander I guess one could change the shape. The only thing I buy from the craft stores every now and then are the plastic containers to store them in, like the one you see here and small tube's of epoxy. I hope this helped. NOTF
