From what I read the BATF did not want to recognize a smokeless ML as a ML ??
I had read something similar on another site that Savage was up to its neck in orders for guns (particularly the new Bmag .17 cal), and that it wasn't practical to set up to produce the 10ML-ll in small volume runs any more as they had done in the last few years, even though people had signed up on a waiting list to get one. The demand for their mainstream models takes precedent. It's too bad for shooters, but a good position for a company to be in when product demand exceeds availability.
Don't know where you got that info from , as other companies still build them but not as many as Savage did , Go to Randy Wakemans site and get all the info from it , the link is there.Quote:

4759 has been a great powder to use with the 10ML-II but even this powder is going to be discontinued later this year. If this is your powder of choice for your 10ML-II you may want to consider stocking a few pounds before the year’s end.

From what I saw in clips from the 2014 Shot Show...the industry is alive and well. There have been more gun sales in the past year than ever before (lots of stock pilling due to fear mind you ;))
I remember reading awhile back that the 'smokeless' Muzzleloader industry was getting wary with lawsuits mounting. It may be just coincidence but Savage had been slowing production of the 10ML-11 back in 2010 around the time they began having problems with TobyBridges. Who knows what went on behind the closed boardroom doors.
I was wondering why this is news now, I thought Savage did their final production run back in 2011 ?

It appears now that they cannot keep up with orders for all their other firearms , and with producing only 6000 yearly of the smokeless ml's they found it to be not economical . That's their story .?????
Just bought one today ! Blued version . Don't need it right now? sold my old remi Ml last spring so i figured I had better put one back in the collection. when I read a pile about them and how the price is rising on them I could'nt help myself. Hard to find !
They are a very fine ml. I don't care about future value of mine, I'll never sell it. One sweet front stuffer.
Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear, Savage is doing a great job marketing their products, nothing better than to convince your audience their is a shortage of something.
Yes !!! 1 ,They are hard to find on many dealer shelve's, But #2 where I bought mine ( as I got the last he had in stock ) He did say " we can order another in" ? As my buddy has a strong desire for one. Make's one wonder ??Quote:
