This bruiser was taken last week by Mario Cloutier. Not a record but he is Masive. Saw pictures on Face Book.
Correction on the hunter. Michael Gauthier was the shooter and Mario Clouthier posted it on Facebook.
It was not a dump bear it was taken north of town on the Blue Berry Road.
I found his profile, but no open pics of the bear yet.
I use to live in Longlac years ago, and knew to guys with that same name. Wonder which one it was? I'll have to check on facebook once I get home from work. That's HUGE!

That is a horrible picture, Hunter looks to be 5 feet behind bear, But hard to tell from the picture.
I would love to see more pics of this, I can't imagine what a 760lb bear alive looks like.

Hahaha. Good idea with the explanation. But really these big guys carry alot of fat. I took a bruiser when I was 17 that dressed out at 400lbs. He had five inches of fat all the way up his back. It would be safe to assume this guys packing much more.Quote:

I found the guy on facebook and added him, the full size picture was there, looks amazing. Went back today, to grab it and post it up so you can see the full res photo, and he took it down for some reason.

From the CBC article it "was just outside of town". This thing probably had an unlimited food source in the form of garbage. Whether it be garbage bins or the dump itself, thats my bet.Quote:

Actually "harvest" is a politically correct term used too often including in OOD Magazine to diminish the reality of hunting.
It was the woman doing the interview who used the word harvested when she finished up. That's what I picked up on. The shooter kept using "took'em".

My first taste of bear back in the 70's was a dump bear. While the taste of it was so-so, you couldn't cook it in the house because the smell was so strong it would stick around for days. Kind of a waste of a tag.
