Funny how the use of the word "harvested" is used in the broadcast. As if hunters really speak like that lol. Oh well...
It must be a freak of genetics bear, but I still don't get how it could get that big without having an almost unlimited food source.
    Not that it matters.

From the CBC article it "was just outside of town". This thing probably had an unlimited food source in the form of garbage. Whether it be garbage bins or the dump itself, thats my bet.

Just outside of town is 35 KMs North with 2 Large rivers to cross. Now I don't know if that is a great distance for a bear to travel for food but by the size of him I think he is too fat to travel that far??? Lol.

Black bears dont usually grow to that size. Id bet its got a wholly unnatural food source available.

Must have eaten a lot of moose over the years! LOL! I guess that's why the moose population in the area is is dwindling.

It would take a lot of berries to get that fat.

I see words like KILL and SHOT on CBC.
    I don't see HARVEST.

Actually "harvest" is a politically correct term used too often including in OOD Magazine to diminish the reality of hunting.

It was the woman doing the interview who used the word harvested when she finished up. That's what I picked up on. The shooter kept using "took'em".
I totally agree with your last sentence. But I think it's here to stay, unfortunately.

How old might that beast be? Geez, imagine coming up that thing on a camping trip unarmed!
