Sure hope they catch this goof.
The real story is that Earnest got himself untied and got himself to the hospital under his own power. Seems that he is one very tough dude.
As for the guy that did this... one could only hope he misses an intersection and collides with a bus
I have a better idea, send him to my place instead of the courts, guaranteed he won't do it again.:angry:Quote:
Because we all know he won't get what he deserves from our courts.
I think that a little corporal punishment would go along way to help with re-offense. But alas we are a "civilized" society. Animals that do stuff like this and worse are not very civilized and should be treated as such.
That is absolutely brutal, no words to say. Not sure how anyone can do this to someone of this age, the fact that he is a veteran just adds to it.
This could get interesting. No common street punk.

What is wrong with people these days? This is very disturbing to think that this guy would do this. Unfortunately we are hearing stuff like this to often. Time to set an example and hopefully send a message that people won't put up with thugs. Hope they catch him and he falls or breaks his legs during the arrest cause we all know the courts will be lenient
I dont know a guy like that in the bullpen after his bail apperance might not do so well.
Update to the assault. The scum bag actually tried to suffocate the victim.
Hope he gets the same in prison.
Ian Bush, 59, has been charged with attempted murder after a 101-year-old war veteran was robbed and left bound with a plastic bag over his head.
- WWII veteran Ernest Côté, 101, tied up and robbed in Ottawa home invasion
- Video of Ottawa home invasion suspect released by police
Bush appeared in court on Saturday to face several charges:
- Attempted murder.

Ernest Côté, a veteran of the Second World War, was alone in his apartment at 31 Durham Pvt. when a man claiming to be a City of Ottawa employee asked to be buzzed into the building around 7:30 a.m. ET on Thursday.

Once in the building, the man forced himself into Côté's apartment and demanded money.
Côté was robbed and left tied up with a plastic bag over his head. He managed to free himself after the man left and called 911. He was not injured.
Ottawa police released photos and a surveillance video after the home invasion. A tip led to the arrest of a suspect on Friday, police said.
A pretty darn sorry thing to do to an old man.
Declare him a terrorist please! and send him on a free all expense paid Cruise vacation to SE Cuba. I'm thinking near the "Resort" area of Caimanera. 24/7 room service, private rooms, lots of water-sports, an international food/drink menu and numerous innovative ways to enjoy it, a dedicated staff.........
What's this got to do with public service / government employees. ?? I must have missed something !
The report I saw said he was a city employee. Is that not correct?
EDIT....looks like the National Post paper states HE POSED as a CITY EE. Not a CITY EE
I will edit my previous post about him being a PS worker.

Looks like he was a HR consultant and his wife is a nurse at a seniors residence. Once again, there is something way whacky with this.

Waaay beyond wacky !

And I might even go so far as to say this may not be the end of wacky.
I liked what the victim said.
"We're you afraid?"
answer: "No way! I was mad as hell!"
Sounds just like what a WW2 veteran would say , considering what they went through.
Wow, that is bizarre and could get real interesting. The old fella may have dodged another bullet.
