For me, (and this holds true of any species) is the preparation, getting ready, packing, scouting, setting up, all that is part of the magic for me. Pulling the triggers, that's gravy, I enjoy the work that goes into each and every hunt.
That being said, I have started to yank out the Turkey Gear, and get ready. I was into it for all of 3 minutes, when something hit me, shoved my stuff aside, and ran up into Myles room. I am more excited to get him ready!
Grandpa put out the blinds and we have a few fields to take him to, he still doesn't know he's coming on the trip, let alone coming out for a hunt, it'll blow his little mind.
I have been putting stuff aside for him since before he could talk, stuff I outgrew, replaced with new, etc... This 4 year old has more in his kit then other grown men.
He's got bino's, deekes, camo clothes, calls (fowl, turkey, deer), scent stuff, packs, bags, cushions, etc.
Just gotta get him a pair of small gloves, and he'll be ready to rock.
His pack, duffle bag, and outfit, ready for the hunt!

My stuff can now wait, it seems, unimportant in comparison.
Just getting him out on a Turkey hunt is a success, if I can just get him to see a bird out there, whether it comes in or not, is the trips trophy for him, me, us.
