Hey, ya never know. Politics is all about marketing now and this guy has that figured out. His business sense would be spot on too. I say bring it on.
He's a loud mouth. Whoever runs the show needs to be able to speak, and listen. It might also help to have some meaningful political experience...
Politics is marketing and negotiation skills. Being a loudmouth is a marketing tool. So far JT has pretty well shown us he isn't going to listen to anybody who disagrees with him. Being a PM with a majority he doesn't really have to for another 3 years.
Scary.
Much as he is smart, and would certainly have a far better grasp of things than either the naive idealist, or fat cats of socialism. He does represent all thats wrong of the right. Just another robber baron advancing himself at the cost of others. No different than the Libs and Unions here in Ontario.
All that's wrong? Successful in business, articulate, bilingual, big contributor to charity. Not sure I see that as everything that's wrong. Still not convinced a guy like him would get elected though and that is the end goal. Even if I like him if he can't get elected I wouldn't vote for him to be leader.
Loudmouths do not make it in politics. If Trump makes it to the US presidency, I might have to rethink that, but I think I'm right.
Being able to *NOT say what's on your mind* is very important in politics. See Tim Hudak's conservative election win in Ontario in 2014. Oh wait a minute - that didn't happen because someone couldn't keep is unpalatable (to most voters) ideas to himself.
Canada is too politically correct and Center Left for the guy. He wouldn't get elected. Like Jack Nicholson said "we can't handle the truth".
How'd he get there Terry? He's no better than the Unions and many in PS. Exploiting others. He *is* everything the "lefties" complain about..he doesn't give a rats about anyone other than himself.
Does he understand economics and business? Yep, in spades and he's walked all over people getting there. Taken advantage of people getting there. Even with his millions, he robs people blind. You think he treat his employees well?
As opposed let's say to a PM who billed charities and school boards to read prepared speeches while collecting a taxpayer paid salary?
Despite all we don't like about JT ( A naive fool really is his worst crime). Has he hurt the stiffs yet? Nope. Will he? Possibly, depending on taxation and some things..For all you gripe about JT Morneua is smart, a BAY Street and has a good back ground...Time will tell.
Fact is all politicians will abuse this or that. Close your eyes and pick one.
Fact is is all pander and buy votes. Only the Liberals here in Ontario the past 15 years have gone way over the top. And its really just been here in Ontario where Unions are A) deciding elections, pulling strings and B) enriching themselves quite a bit at the expense of the working stiffs.
And because they have propped up and kept this admin in power and so much is coming home to roost, people backs are breaking (unless your in PS)
Yeah its bad and a joke.
he would just be as bad....only difference being the other side of the pendulum.
And don't forget. Canada (the electorate) is slightly left of centre. He wouldn't stand a chance and the Unions will go ape...Even if JT ever got close to as bad as things are here in Ontario...his chances of winning?About as good as Trumps here, or Mannings.
And things would need to be as bad Federally as they are here before Id consider him. So if you DONT want years of foolishness, pandering to Quebec, Unions, etc..........
O'Leary, Oh Ya, at least he's got a fair bit of business savvy not like the village idiot that's in there now.
I think he could be a good leader. He's not a Trump.

Mr. O'Leary is a very smart man. I wonder why he isn't a billionaire.
The problem with O'Leary is the same problem Harper and Hudak has. He doesn't have appeal to the masses necessary to beat his opponet.
JT has appeal and look where we are heading. So basically we have no hope . O'Leary does have enough money to take acting lessons as well as therapy from Dr. Phil. But then again that would be changing who he really is ,up front no nonsense proven business man. As much as i don't care for him he would do a much better job than any politician currently in office.
That is my point. If the conservatives hope to win we need a leader who has a solid track record of running big projects (private or public) successfully and has enough charisma to be in the same wieght class as Junior. He/she doesn't need to beat Junior but they should have enough personal warmth to project it.
O'Leary has spent enough time on the CBC in his "Mr. Wonderful" personality that he comes across as a giant jackarse. He has stated in the media that he cares only for money and that doesn't really play well with the majority of Canadians. I lean right than left when it comes to social issues but I would have a real problem with this guy who claims he loves captalism but came to be a household name on a state sponsored television show (kinda ironic).
Dyth
Exactly Dyth.
And "if" he did by some miracle win. Sure he would run a tight ship, likely make many wise business decisions.
Human decisions?
Either way, it's pie in the sky day dreaming. Reminiscent of many Liberal philosophies.
Naive.
Seriously, if he really wanted to do more than get some face time in the media. Wouldn't be invest more than 1 million in ALTA? If he really meant an ounce of his self agrandising crap to get Notley to step down....
Just how far does 1million go these days.
Sounds like he is smarter than the Liberal leadership (and their voters) to me...

That may or may not be.How many people has he hired? He actually has more direct ability to provide jobs than young JT. One should be careful lest one find themselves under the microscope...
Look don't get me wrong....doesn't mean he would be good for Canada.
As for their voters. Well consider this.
Rob Ford (might even add Mel Lastman and Barbara Hall)
Dalton McGuinty
Kathleen Wynne
Not exactly a shinning history or testament of red TOs ability to "pick em"
