Only 100,000 miles right now and I got the lower block replaced, under warranty, six month ago. If I can double that the way I threat her I would be amazed....
My old ranger went 770 000 km before it blew up.
My dad had a 2500 years ago that was over 400 k
Pics a few weeks old. Got well over 8,000 on it now. [emoji6]

400k on my 2001 suburban with a 5.3 on a mix of in town/highway and some light towing, motor was replaced at 300k, rear diff done at 200k, air shocks at 150k, original trans and steering.
The newer ones have variable valve timing and 6 speed trans to get 21mpg which is much better than my 16mpg, so the mileage savings will be a help when I replace it soon.
I really like the duramax diesel suburban conversions (duraburb) but just cant justify the additional $20k USD.
I just rolled over 14K km on my "almost" new 2014 Silverado LT Z71. Avg. fuel rating is 12.6L/100kms unless I'm pulling the boat or the ATV in the box, then it goes up to 14-15L (5.3L V8). I bought my first Chevy Cheyenne in 1971 and have not driven anything else, since.
I've driven a lot of different vehicles over the years from semi's to Police Cruisers, alright, but,I never set the computer when just bombing around town because the fuel consumption is gawd-awful. For that,we use Mrs.T's 2015 GMC Terrain (2.0L). We call it the grocery cart.LOL
2006 ram 1500 - 470,000 k she's about ready to retire tho..
1998 sierra 385k
2001 Chevy z71Mostly original everything. 300k. 4x4 still works and air conditioning. Never been recharged.
2003 Chevy z71. Mostly original everything. 300k. 4x4 crapped out last year. Everything else works.
2004 Gmc slt. Dads truck. 350k. Been stolen to the Indian reserve and back. Still driving it to the cottage and back on the week ends.
All trucks are farm plated and have been ABUSED from day one. These trucks are not pretty anymore from being used on a daily basis. Up to last year would not think twice about grabbing any truck and going for a road trip. Replacement farm trucks coming in the near future.

2014 GMC Sierra 170000 km's. Avg 16L/100Km, mostly highway. On the third set of tires, replaced rotors, rear pads due to axle seal failure, ac condensor, rad, radio all under warranty. Both headlights were replaced as well (look like pickerel eyes) , once they blow both high and low beam are gone. So far it's been a good truck but it's a little unnerving too hear these late model trucks coming in with corroded wires, apparently the wiring gets lighter every year and the liquid calcium chloride creates havoc.
1988 Chevy cheyene retired at 480 000 hard kms
1989 chevy s-10 retired at 525000 hard kms , went thru two teenage boys figuring out a standard transmission lol was my dads truck
2008 gmc sierra 223000 and still running strong
98 Sierra retired at 475k
07 Silverado retired at 544k
15 Sierra currently at 84k after 11 months.
My 07 Silverado has 228k on it. 5.3l V8
My 07 sierra work truck has 490k 6.0l 2500 series.
I had only one GM truck and it was a piece of junk. I no longer support truck companies that were bailed out with tax payers dollars. It's a matter of principle.
my 02 has just over 375k km.
Toyata didn't.
Anyway, I had a Chev Silverado that started burning oil at around 140,000km and had to replace the engine at around 200,000km. Rings were shot in three of the cylinders. That truck was the biggest piece of crap I ever owned. Anyhting that could break or fall apart on it did.

I'm seeing $4.6billion in loans to Toyota.
Not picking sides or anything, but why is it, in so many threads any person who offers a dissenting view, or just one that doesn't go with the flow gets jumped on?Maybe the thread title should include "for fanboys only"? Aka only positive posts and GM lovers allowed.
First vehicle I ever bought was GM. It wasn't all that, it was "crap" and thus the odometer reading was under 100,000 and I've never gone back.
thats topical, contributory.
Bailouts of the auto sector, a different topic. On that topic sure wish my company had been bailed out...
AC
Auto Sector
Bombardier...who lol after getting bailed out yet again shuts a plant in TO (good job junior) and moves jobs to Mexico.
sooo many............
maybe the best way for any company to avoid going belly up is by making good products at competitive prices.
Its nice reading some few people getting 10years plus or hundreds of thousands out of their vehicles, however the fact of that matter is, that's the exception, not the norm. (And that's true of most manufacturers)
In this case, it's b/c the title of the thread is "How many miles on your GM truck?", and the dissenting response didn't go anywhere near answering that simple question. Which to me, sure looks like someone just trolling for an argument. And it worked.

Had he said, for arguements sake
"I bought one, it was crap I sold it at Xkm or trashed it at Ykm and will never buy another GM product again..That would have been acceptable then? I don't see why not and really, that's what he said except he didn't give the mileage.
Agree the bailout topic could have gone unsaid. However everyone has their reasons for avoiding this company or that company
What's so difficult to stay on topic? Simple question calls for simple answer. How many k go your GM? xxxxxkms!
Is someone looking for attention, create your own thread such as "How my kids ended up driving crhappy S. Korean cars cause of bailouts?" or "Bailouts, the S. Korean dream!".
Anyway, it's time for some Communism order around here....:moose:
As noted "that" was off topic. Must I say it 3 times for ease of reading.
However thanks for proving the point about herd mentality. :)
He obviously has had a bad experience with GM. So what, nothing wrong with him stating that.
Edit add
goint to try and say it this way. Just as he had the option to voice his displeasure with GM (or not). People jumping on him likewise could have followed our moms advice. If you have nothing good to say...
You/we don't have to agree with his opinion of GM..
What a boring world this would be if we all just agreed like zombies.
WOW just looking for hi mileage gm trucks,,,,,,,,,,,I got some hi mileage responses on the sierra /silverado forum.............400,000 range
This thread makes me laugh.
Have yet to own a truck, but that day is just around the corner for me.
My buddy's wife is always bragging about how great her 2011 GM is and how it's coming up on 600,000kms.
My buddy (owns a mechanic shop) says "yeah, but for the last 4 years I've put $3000-$5000 worth of parts into it, each year, and haven't charged you for labour!"
Lol
They're all junk at some point. It's just a lottery with mildly better odds.
I don't know if the mileage is the only issue - how many repairs were done to the vehicle - heck you could get a million miles if you are willing to keep putting in new parts - the question is how many miles did you get before you had to spend any sizeable amount of money on it
I suspect Joe, that's the most important question, as that's the "breaking point". For some they are able to go years/Kim's without having to put significant $ into a vehicle. Thus many years/miles and smiles. For others, that day comes a lot sooner and leaves a bad taste.
i don't care what anyone says. When people spend tens of thousands on something, it should last. Reality is, many/most don't and hence negative experiences. I think people can be "excused" for voicing their displeasure. Having spent possibly 40,50,60 k on a truck that turned into a money pit.
others think differently and that's ok to.
as I said, it's nice reading the examples of many years/Kms. However those will be the minority/rare exceptions
2004 Sierra 2500hd with an LB7
515k on it averaging 12.4l/100km
Yes I have to agree with the both of you on that and it's unfortunate because I had a really bad experience with my GM product along with poor customer service. That is why I only buy proven vehicles today with a good reputation for service as well. If another country builds a better product I'm going to purchase it. You can't beat the 0% financing that Hyundai, Mazda and KIA are offering. Too bad KIA or Hyundai do not build a pickup.
I have 225k on my 04 Silverado. And loving it. Dutch.
I've got 140,000km on my 2011 Silverado. No major costs - fluids and breaks only.
The Customer Service at my local dealer was exceptional. A few months after I first bought the truck, a bad tank of fuel went into it. The dealer thought it was the throttle body - after doing some digging they realized it was the gas. They still covered the rental, oil change and new tank of fuel under "warranty work" even though they didn't need to. I'm very pleased with my truck and the service thus far.

Had 493000 on 95, 5.7 litre, z71, Had just put new tires on it and intended to continue driving when they came out with the cash for clunkers offer. Hope this 2010 gmc is as good!
We have a 2004 Silverado with almost 298,000 miles on it

02 Cavalier retired 2010 612,000 motor and trans still strong.
04 Cavalier 552,000 and ticking.
2003 Sierra 310,000 and ticking
