A lethal shot is still a lethal shot.......
The government could use Fentenal injection. It us killing junkys before thy can even get the needle out if there arms it would be cheap for the government to use a lethal dose of this high powered drug
What kind of volunteers are you looking for? Sharpshooter? Says the cons chose to be shot and not have drugs. Not like they had been forced into it.
"Get it right you bloody $#@%!@%@". (Breaker Morant)
Cheapest and quickest is The Hangman's Noose. To hell with that mamby-pamby politically correct bullshyte. Drop 'em. Game, set and match.
There is a lot of math and prep work for a hangman...
You feel like spending the next 12 to 14 hours just stretching the rope so it does not break. Drop too short and they strangle, too long and the head comes off. How about a person missing limbs? You know you have to "BALANCE" them so they drop straight and don't swing into the gallo?
Details, details, details. Some you win, some you lose. As long as the knot is nice and tight behind the ear.....SNAP!! Who cares? The other question I have is (while we're on the subject) why is it that there's so much broo-ha-ha over several different types of drugs used at the same time to execute a murdering dirt bag, but,a nurse in a hospital can make a mistake with one shot of Potassium Cyanide and the patient dies, instantly? And,also, why is it that intelligence agencies around the world issue their field agents with one or two Cyanide tablets to use in case they're caught with classified information to avoid torture? These are questions that make one go "H-m-m-m....."
I have a hard time grasping why it is so hard to put convicted killers to death using drugs. People are ODing every day on heroine, fentanyl, and everything else in between without issue. Assisted suicide is a hot topic, and there are drugs to see it through. Surely it can be done.
The convict can not be made to suffer. An OD is not something you would every want to see. Drowning in their own vomit and/or convulsing so bad that they shatter their bones.
For all the people for capital punishment, are you ok with killing someone who did not commit any crime? Are you of with the state murdering someone?
This is why we do not have capital punishment in Canada, for as much as I would like to see some of these guys get what is coming to them killing just one person who is innocent should make you think.
Think about David Milgaard, 23 years in prison and he would have been executed if allowed, all for doing nothing.
Yes it would be sad if a innocent person was put to death by mistake but when you look at the big picture - how many innocent soldiers were sent to die in battle, how many innocent people die in car crashes - how many sick people die and they didn't do anything wrong - getting killed even when you did nothing wrong is a risk you take for being alive -
We're have some people in Canadian prisons who need to be executed. Just look at the child killers from Ontario the last few years. Yes that punk from Woodstock that killed that littel girl needs to meet his end...yes Canada should bring back the death penalty for these kinds of cases
Those cases happened many years ago, some cops were tunnel visioned.
In this day and age it is very unlikely to happen with the science used in investigations, dna etc., plus the fact that in many cases the perpetrator pleads guilty that right there should sign their fate. "YOU ARE NO LONGER A MEMBER OF THIS EARTH"
Killers, Rapists, Child Molesters, have no right to live in my society !
So let me understand your simple minded logic. You think killing someone, for killing someone too teach that killing is wrong works? slow clap. What makes you better then the criminal to begin with then? You know why their are drug shortages? because companies are against death penalty and refuse to sell it to the states and feds. No Canada should NOT have the death penalty just like all the other modern countries. Because were not barbaric like the Americans
Why should tax payers pay for the keep and we'll being of killers like Bernardo. Or Rafferty....we belive in a jury in this country and thy should have the right to recommend the death penalty in cases like these...
Why ? Because a majority of Canadians say we should.
Yup the majority also voted in are current leader.hows that going.
This is the problem, it does not matter how many are justified if you get one wrong, if you murder one innocent person then you are no better than the murders.
So you are saying that the soldiers, car crash victims, sick kids, is justifiable and we should simply except that these people will die so we should not be worried about killing more innocent people, makes a lot of sense to me.
I agree with you, there are some really bad people out there but take for instance your son/daughter is at a party. There is an argument and everyone goes home. Later that night the police show up to your child's residence and arrests them for the stabbing death of one of the party goers. Your child has been known to be a little angry when drinking and the people at the party all say that your child was the one who was in an altercation with this person who was killed. It goes to court and your child is convicted of murder and sentenced to death. You do not believe they did it but they are up on death row. How do you feel? These convictions are never cut and dry.
Here is a nice big list of people who were wrongfully convicted and many of them would have been put up for execution if that were allowed.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overtu...ions_in_Canada
The guy on at the top was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend in 1990, I guess that is a long time ago and they should not make those errors anymore but when prosecutors, the public and the police want someone to be guilty it is really difficult to get them off, even when they are 100% innocent.
Only the person who is the murderer knows for sure, even eye witnesses are wrong very often.
Your wrong with that. The majority of Canadians actually favour capital punishment.
We are not a lot different from Americans on that subject.
In both countries, about 60% are in favour of it.

WR you are right about those figures , BUT only 40% of Canadians want it reinstated. Most do not want to join these countries that execute people. The top 10 are...... China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, USA, Pakistan,Yemen, N. Korea, Vietnam, Libya. Ya we want to join that group....NOT.
There is a reason why they do not want the death penalty reinstated, because those people are from the countries you mention, and are now living in Canada.
I was born here in Canada and am one of those that would and will vote to bring back the death penalty if the choice ever arises so would my family after we discussed the issue.

MONTREAL — Each prisoner in Canada’s 54 federal penitentiaries costs taxpayers $117,788, up 46% from a decade ago, says a new report.
A federal public safety ministry document says federal corrections spending reached a peak of $2.7 billion in 2013, or $1.1 billion more than in 2002-2003.
There were 2,082 more inmates serving sentences longer than two years compared with a decade ago.
Five-hundred additional corrections officers were hired to watch them, the document said.
Canada’s worst criminals are more expensive to house than other inmates, costing taxpayers up to $151,000 a year.
Just think of what 2.7 billion dollars would do for the poor or when added to healthcare.
I feel as many do, that spending you life locked up is more of a punishment than the mercy of a painless death by the needle.
Friends usually are like minded , try phoning 10 people who do not like you.
Oh,no,on the contrary. They biggest fallacy in the entire world of law enforcement and jurisprudence is that forensic science and DNA technology is infallible. It's only as good as the people gathering evidence and technicians processing it. Too many errors are showing up in too many trials.
Just google "forensics fail."
Lots of cases where forensics have nabbed the wrong person. Not usually DNA related but lots of cases where hair, teeth marks, tracks etc.. have been used incorrectly. Even DNA though can have issues:
http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2016/...nares-innocent
From the above article:
"In 2013, geneticist Michael Coble of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland, set up a hypothetical scenario in which a mix of DNA from several people had been found on a ski mask left at a crime scene after a series of robberies. Coble asked 108 labs across the country to determine whether a separate DNA sample, which he posited had come from a suspect in the robberies, was also part of the mix. Seventy-three of the labs got it wrong, saying the suspect's DNA was part of the mix when, in fact, it was not. “It’s the Wild West out there,” Coble says. “Too much is left to the analysts’ discretion.”
Even in war lives are taken by friendly fire, it happens, and it's unfortunate that it does, but it happens. But if there is no capital punishment, where is the deterrent. The way I see it, an eye for an eye if there's no undisputed evidence that say's otherwise...
If someone takes a like it's no difference than war and should be treated as such...
So friendly fire is ok? What if it is your brother or sister that was killed with friendly fire? Are you ok with that?
Now, your brother or sister is killed by the state because they look like someone who committed a horrible crime and they were picked out of a lineup, are you ok with this?
Civilized people do not kill people, except to preserve life.
In the examples you gave, they were actually cleared by DNA evidence, hence released from prison, come up with something recent .
In cases like Homolka/Bernardo, McClintic/ Rafferty in Woodstock killed a little girl with a hammer, the crossbow killer Amaral. in Waterloo On. pleaded guilty to killing Michael Gibbon, how about Marco Muzzo in Vaughan killed a grandfather and 3 children because he was drunk, Plus there were a few other cases of murdered women in the K/W area in the last couple of years, one was found in the Grand River, another found buried behind a dumpster at apartment where she lived, another was dismembered and body parts were found in a bushy area of Kitchener PLUS MANY MANY OTHERS.
Are you trying to tell me that these convicted killers were convicted by trumped up and mistaken evidence from DNA samples, definitetly NOT.
Convicted of the atrocious crime of killing some one , most often some one close to them, guilty, the have no right to expect to be kept in prison till whenever and live a better life than a lot of people in our society.
Big rub that really gets me , it was in the papers not long ago , "prisoners go on strike , they are tired of eating steak and beef all the time, want a better choice of meals and the option of being able to order out." this really takes the cake. They are in these prisons that are more like luxury resorts with all the ammenities and not real prisons and they have the balls to complain about their treatment.
There are a lot of people out there that are very hard working that cannot afford to eat steaks and beef, yet we have convicted killers complaining that they get too much of it,
WHERE IS THE JUSTICE ? get rid of these "bas$t#@ds" and we would be better off!
Are you ok with killing someone who did not do anything? If you are then I disagree with you and capital punishment. If you not ok with killing someone that is innocent then you cannot accept capital punishment as there are many proven cases where people have been murdered by the state in the US.
You can always say Bernardo and you will have people willing to kill him but what about the guy Russell Williams was working to frame (neighbour), he was planting DNA and boot prints and tons of evidence. If the police did not get a lucky break that neighbour would have been brought up on charges, I mean, a Major could not do such things, you see the problem here?
Now lets put the shoe on the other foot , namely your's .
How would you feel towards someone that has killed a member of your family ? , wife, daughter or son.
Would you be magnanimous and forgive that person ?
It has not happened to me, but to a friend of mine, the killer is in jail but will be eligible for parole soon.
It has also happened to my former Chief, Daughter and her two children killed by their father, his son in law, it tore him apart, he and his wife have now passed away.
There are too many of these killings.
Well here's one for you Sharon, I am sure you are familiar with this case.
Don Frigo shot and killed by Boris Panovski,, this was first degree murder, and attempted murder of Frigo's wife, all over jealousy about dogs as Panovski was a former dog trainer for Don Frigo.
How do you feel about that, there was no mistakes made by the police, just good investigation, Panovski found guilty and sentenced to whatever term length in prison where he will be looked after , including dental, medical care and well fed, even has the choice of taking degree courses all on our money , mine and your hard earned dollars being spent to keep the bu$$tards alive, makes me want to wretch.

The day Chris Schweitzer died, a Guelph courtroom heard, the man accused of killing him was heard talking about how he was going to kill somebody.
ON AND ON IT GOES , I am still definitely "for " reinstating the death penalty, I am sick and tired of having my hard earned dollars being used to keep these bturds alive.
I believe abortion, euthanasia, are choices you can make for yourself, should be available and you must request them.
How the hell does a baby make a choice?
I assume you are also aware that long before Canadians started talking about euthanasia, health professionals had been making those choices for people for decades.
As far as your when does life begin - the only people on the planet still holding to the "at birth" mantra are the pro-abortionists.
But even for those - what about "live birth abortions" and yes - its just what it sounds like.
But you may be right. Canada is not a civilised country.... Because a civilised country looks after those that cannot look after themselves.
"What do the experts say?
"The American College of Pediatricians concurs with the body of scientific evidence that human life begins at conception - fertilization…. Scientific and medical discoveries over the past three decades have only verified and solidified this age-old truth. At the completion of the process of fertilization, the human creature emerges as a whole, genetically distinct, individuated zygotic living human organism, a member of the species sapiens, needing only the proper environment in order to grow and develop. The difference between the individual in its adult stage and in its zygotic stage is not one of personhood but of development. The Mission of the American College of Pediatricians is to enable all children to reach their optimal physical and emotional health and well-being from the moment of conception."

I have no problem with Dr. H Morgantaler or Dr. J. Kevorkian providing a requested service.
Yes I will always mention Bernardo/Homolka, [she is just as guilty ], the reason being that it could have been my niece as she went to school with those girls , and knew them well , they didn't live that far away., [ Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffey.]
Fortunately my niece married a super nice guy who also went to the same school, he became an OPP Officer, and is now one of the Top Cops [OPP], detachments in most of southern on. answer to him.
Don't know what his rank is .

As sad as that event still makes me, Boris has not yet come to trial due to mental health issues. No execution of the mentally ill imo.
[QUOTE=Sharon;1025517]The big question is , was he mentally ill at the time of the killing?
I doubt very much that he was , a mentally ill person wouldn't have the mental capacity to preplan a murder the way he had and then go into hiding he was very mentally capable at the time , IMO.
After he had been apprehended, he starts claiming he is mentally ill, if you believe that, well??? what can I say.
