Yes I agree that getting out to vote is important.
But generally lower voter turnout favours the PC's.
The somewhat older voters tend to vote more often and support the PC's more.
The younger voters are traditionally less likely to vote.
Also they do not tend to be big PC suporters on the average.
Voting isn't enough. Join a party, donate, work on campaigns.
For those of us who work on campaigns voting is what we do when the hard work is done.
With Wynne promising to give away the panels, insulation and everything but the wall studs and the NDP promising that and wanting to make Ontario a sanctuary province ....
We will declare Ontario a Sanctuary Province,” page 11 of the NDP platform. NDP looks like an even worse choice than the Libs and that takes alot of effort.
“A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims... but accomplices” - George Orwell
There are still accomplices to the corruption and waste and greed of the Libs and NDP and there is too much at stake to split votes with other parties so ..... and as usual the NDP candidates have shown themselves to be radicals or worse.

GET OUT AND VOTE Conservative, I will!
The NDP is definitely surging but mostly at the expense of the liberals which based on polling could lose party status. The PC's still sit at near 90% chance of a majority. By Election Day it will be tight but I think the Dippers and Libs will split the left vote.
Terry the Ipsos poll released today has the NDP & PC tied.
Of decided voters it has the NDP with a slight edge at 37% compared to the PC's 36%.
What concerns me about Doug Ford is the lack of comprehensive platform released. So far we have had Ford state he would do this and do that. A election platform is a metric to be used by the electorate to judge to worthiness of a party to govern and as a yardstick to measure a government's accountability when in power. A series of statements is counter-productive because Ford could end up promising two very different things.
One thing no one wants to touch is how to pay down the debt. For years certain posters (JBen for example) have been stating how bad it is. Right now we pay 12 billion a year in interest with low interest rates. That number will increase when interest rates rise. It is the fourth biggest expenditure in the budget. How much longer before Ontarians think that is a problem. We let this happen. All of us because we didn't say no to governments running deficits. That has to change. We need to fix this before we get to a fiscal equivalency of Greece. For those of you who support the NDP and Liberals, how much better would our programs be with a 12 billion dollars a year increase. For those of us who support PC, how much better would we be with a portion of 12 billion dollars a year in our pockets.
We have to start asking for fiscal responsibility from our politicians. Shifting our glory days to the next generation isn't good enough.
Read their platform, look at their candidates .... the NDP make the Liberal's look good.
I was in a local meat store the other day and just asked how it was going and for the rest of my time waiting for the meat I got a lecture about their tax increases, electricity rates etc. etc. Her sister in law works in a gov't office and actually complains they have no work to do and they just sit around and talk most of the day. The Libs have hired probably close to 150,000 since 2009 and made cuts to health etc. at the same time...
The Libs make Bob Rae look good.... but the current NDP make the Liberal's look good .... if either win or a coalition gov't we are so screwed! Doug Ford could promise to freeze everything, sit in his chair and drink a tea in the morning and a beer in the afternoon for 4 years and nothing more and we would be far far ahead so anything with accountability or integrity and we win.... but the media is sure covering up and attacking.
The media isn't even attempting anything resembling the truth anymore, a perfect example is a female reporter (Faith Goldy) was assaulted by Antifa protesters (on video with police there) at an open borders rally, no coverage, no arrests.... the left has sunk to Chavez or Castro levels with the media "working hard with winning the election"* /helping out... pathetic.
* Roughly how Wynne thanked CBC after the last election.
Just a reminder....
https://www.oodmag.com/community/sho...Issues-Summary
and then remember, the NDP would be worse with it's policies and the sanctuary province idea and some of their candidates that are ideologues and insult the Remembrance day/poppy, Christmas etc and would fit into the Socialist/Communist dictatorships very well.
Unfortunately the curse of the NDP seems to still infect Ontario voters. The Dippers gain ground every day. They have crushed the Libranos and are now eating into PC's. The conservatives can't win sure thing elections to save thier lives.
Has everybody already given up on the PC or what? It looks like the discussion has shifted away from them...
By the way, why is it that the Conservatives always find a way of screwing up themselves (and the whole future of the province/country with it) as the election getting closer?...
It’s for the PC to lose again.... they don’t seem to need help losing either. Oh well, they get my vote regardless. Sad. Scary future for Ontario.
Let's REALLY hope it won't happen this time!
I think we are in for a minority government. PC or NDP just flip a coin. I guess voters in Ontario don't read the news much. That minority NDP government in BC should be enough to scare the daylights out of anybody with a brain. The Dippers can't count, have no caucus strength and it will be the Bob Rae rule 2.0. I think we are in for 4 years of a spend and tax Lib/NDP coalition and god help us when the interest rates prevent Horwath from making the payroll. PC's are masters at Phuking up sure things.
You do have to remember though that any government is not the same as any other government. There has been really bad conservative governments and there have been tolerable liberal governments.
They should have voted in Christine Elliot and got a super majority, but alas, they vote in a guy that rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Many people who were voting anti-Liberal have now decided that they would vote for anyone but Wynne or Ford, I guess that means the NDP.
Totally agree, it's the wrong pick for leader of the party , they could have won handily with Elliot or Vic.Fidelli.
One thing that I find confusing is the teachers short memories.
They cannot remember what happened to them when Bob Rae was premier and the NDP were in power, now they are backing them again, I can;t believe it!
Let's see... with the debt load and cooked books who ever wins gets..... will we see....
- Horwath Day's?
- Horwath freeze?
- With so many teachers on the Sunshine list I wonder how the tax increase on their book goes over.
- Wonder how the "sanctuary province" will go over once those kids start showing up in the class room.
- Horwath teachers pension fund loan.... atleast loaned until the budget is balanced .... :-D After all it is listed as an asset under the current cooked books... so why not use it for the betterment of all Ontarians ..... or something like that when it comes out.
There are two horrible choices and one that seems fairly good..... the NDP makes the Libs look like a good choice when you look at what they are saying BUT with Unions they will pick best for themselves regardless of the impact to the rest... hence the NDP and probably big wage and pension increases.... deferred until after they balance the budget, of course scheduled in 4 years (prediction of their statement) just before the election. Underhanded deals, waste and tax increases.... that's the Libs AND the NDP. If the Conservatives don't win a majority we are the high gas and high tax and high electricity will look like the good day by the next election!
Just look at the way the left and media are treating a female reporter getting assaulted by ANTIFA.
https://www.therebel.media/media_s_t...on_faith_goldy
God help us.
Let me ask a question... you have two enemies that have propaganda machines unequaled, people who will believe what ever those propaganda machines say and the enemy will lie, create fear and uncertainty and insults to gain their way. Do you tell them what you will do? (Hudak) or just play shell games with them. Know your enemies, look back, your enemies incompetent, corrupt and good at lying but if given a chance a good portion will see through the lie and corruption.... others are ideologues/accomplices that would happily see the province burn rather than admit it... look at history and the criminals willing to go down in a blaze of "glory"/ scorched earth .... the Unions want their pockets full, the NDP/Libs are like the National Socialists or Stalins or Chavez supporters etc. jealous of those that are more capable, more honest, work harder etc. and hate them.
I have friends that were in China's cultural revolution and even if the landowner or mayor or even teacher was fair there was always willing to stand up and "testify" against them I was told... and they would die. Look around the world, the left since Lenin's day has used jealousy, division and anger to create fear, hatred, violence and power and money for themselves and we see it getting worse... do you think a decade ago ANTIFA could have assaulted a woman and got away with it.... well they can now.
https://www.therebel.media/media_s_t...on_faith_goldy
We see billionaires in "palaces" in Gaza sending children and thousands to attack and kill others while they line their pockets and spout hatred, we see ISIS/Boko Haram and much more groups (alt-right AND alt-left) spurned on by an ideology, hatred and anger and looking at history Armenian Genocide, Cambodian Genocide, North Korea to this day.... Hatred and jealousy is easy to create, especially with the media machine out there so he can give the left a board to create the us vs them and the fear and lie and spin...because with the mess Ontario is in it will be hard work so I think he is much much better off just pointing out how big of sh** piles they are (and we are talking Apotosaurus size poop piles here), because the media is good coverups for them and the at us vs them and they have CBC (and more) willing to lie and work hard for their winning and hide the reality! *Note Wynnes thanking CBC on air live after the last election saying they worked hard for the Lib win... they did by constant attacks on a target and fear mongering etc..
We know that the Libs have lied, cheated and are incompetent and the NDP promises look to be even worse looking at how much they want to spend and a sanctuary province etc. (and the racist etc comments that the NDP has been getting away with) so his best strategy is just pointing out the truth about them and let them swing at a target they can't find. You should watch Wynne and Horwath's twitters.... talk about angry, paranoid and just plain making up attacks... but given the the polls there are some that will still support putting more holes in a sinking ship and killing the kids and grandkids futures for the comforts of now.
I'm living with that government, formed from urban uneducated privileged pothead votes from Vancouver and southern Vancouver island. Grizzly hunt banned, blocking pipeline, wanting to bring proportional vote in, increased deficit and on it goes, that's in less than a year. Get out and vote or you'll be living my nightmare.
Sorry bud. Ford wants to be Premier. In order to get the job, he needs to do the work and come up with a comprehensive, accountable platform. One of the cornerstones of a good democracy is the ability of the electorate to be educated on and disseminate political party's stances on issues and their plan for governing. Ford shouting from the stump about how bad the other two are, announcing his plan piecemeal, following up questions about his announcements about how we are going to afford it by stating "You will see how we are going to do it" without a comprehensive, accountable platform is irresponsible.
Every voter in Ontario is not unlike a member of a board of directors in a company. We have 3 candidates who want to be CEO of our company. Two have come up with plans (I am not going to comment on how bad I think they are) and the other is being secretive about his plans (or worse doesn't have one). It would be irresponsible to pick the third one. I want to know how Ford is going to do the things he is promising by a comprehensive, accountable platform plan. Every voter in Ontario should. He should not get a pass on this matter just because he is not Wynne or Howrath.
The majority of your rant/post has nothing to do with my criticism of Ford or what is happening in Ontario. If you want to debate my point about Ford, debate it. However, bringing up unrelated points about Gaza and any other "Leftist" problem in the world in an attempt to muddy the fact that Ford isn't meeting what I consider a bare minimum as a political leader is weak.
Great post Dyth. I think even some Cons. are beginning to realise they chose the wrong leader. You will not get a straight answer because he does not have one. But get ready for a couple of pages of 'cut and paste'. Deflect, deflect deflect.
... and the minimum is still better than the alternatives by far looking at their policies, promised spending, tax increase, candidates etc.
Here is Doug today.
https://www.facebook.com/FordNationD...6022489185375/
All CBC etc want to ask about is something that happened 2 years ago and was cleared... and I am sure they will bring up a dozen times and I have seen it spun many times already.
and I will simplify it down.
1) Media backs left
2) Outside organizations like Lead Now etc are spending millions to keep Wynne in power
Listening to this in the back ground and Lead Now came up... more Librano action.
https://www.therebel.media/liberals_...line_charities
3) The left and media have got good at misleading, spinning and out right lies and supports a leftist ideology
4) Billions in spending will put interest payments as the largest cost to the government in a decade according to some (depending on interest rates etc)
5) The NDP and Libs want to take and create "incentives" for people to do what they want... just like Justin (likes high gas prices)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtujstXkZ-c
6) Gaza is relevant due to NDP and atleast Federal Lib support for Hamas and also the divisive "us vs them" the left used historically and today while lining their and their supporters pockets. So we see more like this
https://www.thestar.com/news/queensp...h_ontario.html
and
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/poli...hing-quota-to/
It is also relevant in that alt-left violent groups like ANTIFA are backing the current left ideology we see in the Federal and Ontario NDP, they have no problem with violence, UK Antifa and Red Action and here so much so that ANTIFA can assault a woman reporter, police don't act and CBC staff make jokes on twitter.
So get it? Still no?
Super simple so I can go back to work.... NDP are idiots, Libs lie, both increase taxes and are incapable of good job creation only capable of having the gov't hire more to do nothing and NDP even wants to close nuclear plants and create a sanctuary province. Alternative, Doug, wants to reduce taxes and balance budget, what ever he says left will fear monger and lie like they did for Hudak with the media helping. If he says "I like kittens" the media will turn him into a dog hater who likes to cook kittens.... got it yet?
I want facts and figures to show how ford is going to do what he says he will. Is that to much to ask? Seems to be.
The minimum isn't good enough for the shape we are in. He couldn't answer a question about how a bill gets passed in the Ontario legislature yet promised to pass endless bills. That answer should concern you as a PC supporter. It concerns me. That is grade 6 education failing a grown man. He didn't even try to answer the question. He complained it was a "gotcha" question. It was one of the easiest questions a political leader could have. I would have been happy with the basics (introduction, readings and royal assent) but he didn't even provide that. We aren't a new nation which needs endless bills passed. I don't want the minimum from a person asking me to endorse him to run my province. I want better.
Allow me to refute your simplified points:
1) The media doesn't always back the left because there are plenty of radio stations, newspapers and columnists who have been vocal about Wynne's running of the province and her policies as well as criticized Howrath about her platform. If they backed the left as much as you think, we would hear nothing but praises about Empress Wynne.
2) As do right-wing supporting groups such as Ontario Proud and Canadian Taxpayers Federation
3) Seems to me that the right wing media outlets do the same thing. Most of your post history has few criticisms of the political right.
4) Yet Ford has not come up with a way to get us out of that debt because he doesn't have a platform.
5) Seems to me that most politicians do this. Not just the left.
6) Neither Gaza, nor the federal government's support of Hama has nothing to do with provincial politics. You act like the left's supporters are the only ones who abuse the system. Take off the rose coloured glasses. They all have warts. Also, traditionally the "us vs them" attitude has been more prevalent in right wing supports. There aren't too many left wing militias in the US afraid the government is going to come and take everything away from them; nor too many left groups opposing immigration because they aren't like "us".
Violence can be found in any alt group no matter what the political outlook. The definition of these groups is they reject the "mainstream" policies of their political views. Saying one side's violence is morally reprehensible while ignoring the other side's violence is hypocritical.
Still don't understand? Perhaps you should go back, read slowly and use a dictionary for the big words. However, in case you are too illiterate to sound the words out, I will simplify with small ones so I can get back to work.
Doug Ford has stated he wants to run this province. He may gain my support (that means I will vote for him) when he delivers a platform I can use as a metric (that means a system or standard of measurement) to figure if it is a good plan and I can use his platform during the next election to establish if he did a good or poor job. I don't want the bare minimum. Being premier is too important for the bare minimum. As for his treatment by the media, Ford has not done one thing to try to repair his relationship to the media during this campaign (not allowing them on his bus, his stupid "Ford nation" reports, talking down to them during interviews, etc) so I am not going to shed a tear when they don't treat him with kid gloves.
About the questions concerning the "relevation" from the Liberals today, there are people out there saying that he bought their memberships (as well as a tape implying as much) and if that is against the party rules, then that is a massive red flag about the character of Ford. How can he stand up and say he is morally better than Wynne and Howrath if he has done something like this?
Ford just needs to do what the two others do so well. Just lie. Stretch goals. Works every time in Ontario. Reality is the books are likely twice as bad as the auditors think because Wynne decimated their scope and access to the real numbers. And real numbers don't even matter anymore. The Dippers only made a $1.4 billion mistake in their platform and for that they got more support. Ontarians are now the laziest and most uninformed in Canada. I bet 75% couldn't even name their MPP.
No he doesn't need to lie. At the beginning he was high in the polls, people wanted him to be Premier. I wasn't thrilled that he won the PC leadership but I was willing to give him a chance. As the weeks go on and more I have seen of him, the less I think he is qualified to run this province. The polls are starting to reflect that fact.
I agree with you that the reality is that the books are way worse than what has been announced. This Premier and her cabinet have repeatedly shown that they are more than willing to fudge numbers.
I think the Dippers didn't get the increase because of the mistake but from the Liberal jumpers who don't want Ford to win because the support for the Liberals is around 20%.
Dyth the reality is neither the Liberals or the NDP have proven they are not competent with or without a platform. I am willing to give Doug Ford a chance even if he only accomplishes small financial wins such as job creation in the manufacturing sector, firing the CEO of Hydro and uncovering the cooked book fiasco. Doug Ford doesn't need a shovel to dig this province out of this mess that the Liberals have created but a effin Backhoe !
I am sick and tired of career politicians telling us how to run this province like Wynn, Horvath, Elliot and Vic Viagra. It's time a for a businessman or women to run this province and kick these career politicians in the *ss and clean this huge mess up created by these career politicians or snake oil salesmen.
1) How many get $100,000,000+ PER month like CBC
2) I concede that, there are some, I think last election there were about 10 that would be called Conservative and 140 for the left ... and the Fed Libs just interceded to cancel the investigation with 7 found guilty that were about to loose their charity status.... but won't now.
3) I concede that, now and again there have been some.... but CBC and the left as so much better at it, the right media usually says look at this and shows you, the left shows nothing and says think this.
4) He has a way, Ontarians that voted for Wynne last time don't want to hear it and are stupid enough to believe Wynne again so why tell the truth. They are like an obese patient the doctor says to exercise and eat right for the next 4 years and you may live for 10 more and some stranger says eat drink and be merry ..... RIP.
5) Agreed, but I can't figure out just how stupid the lefties are that they like more taxes, higher electricity, higher gas etc. all things that hurt the low and middle income earners... *Note 1
https://globalnews.ca/news/3115346/h...rates-ontario/
6) Yeah... they have no worries they are wearing masks and the left are out doing things setting fires when a gay conservative goes to speak at a University etc. and here in Canada they the same essentially and can assault female reporters with impunity.
Alt groups are generally idiots, no argument there but only one in Canada seems to get government protection. If I got some morons together and marched with a Nazi flag I would be roasted (deservedly) but if I for those same idiots together and put up a Communist Flag and marched they will be fine with it, probably even finding a way to make it sound admirable! It happens all the time, even though Communism has killed far more and created far more oppression than Nazi's were ever responsible for.... National Socialist..... Communist... ideologies of the hate filled and distorted personality!
Grill him good, you can watch the video, they are asking him about something that was dismissed over 2 years ago and we can see that conveniently left out and ignored by the media.... the Left are desperate, they lie and if you see what the Fed's are doing, they are trying to change the election rules in their favour.... but I guess an admirer of dictators and tyrants that is fitting behaviour. For the left though the "reporters" seem to have a script written for them.
The left is OK with the record of the Libs and NDP which is atrocious! Gas plant coverup, eHealth, spending, "Cooked accounting books" and the growing deficit... which comes with increased interest payments... a quick mention and then nothing to see here, move on.
Just as a reminder, here is the Ontario Lib summary...
https://www.oodmag.com/community/sho...Issues-Summary
It does include things like:
- the companies leaving Ontario **Note 2
- and the thousands that were having their power turned off until the media started paying attention ** Note 3
- and does mention the gas prices ** Note 4
- and much more like Pan AM, 61% Distillery tax.....
but that doesn't include things like the Pelee Island Ferry contract going to Chile when there is a company 30 miles away in Ontario etc.

* Note 1
Almost 213,000 Hydro One customers spent 10 per cent or more of their disposable household income on electricity bills in 2015, according to data obtained exclusively by Global News.
And for more than 37,000 Ontarians, nearly 30 per cent of their income went to paying for electricity.

Career politicians have got us where we are ..... GO DOUG!!!!!
I like how Hazel puts it...
https://www.facebook.com/FordNationD...6143095839981/
My point about Ford not releasing a platform was never about the Liberals or NDP, it was this: Doug Ford has not issued a platform yet and as a non-affliated voter in Ontario until he does, he will not get my support. I will bet you any money that if he wasn't a front runner, he would have had a platform out within the first week and would be defending it. I will not swallow the blue koolaid like a lot of people just because he isn't the other two, I want answers so I can make an informed decision. I want better than a party leader who thinks they don't have to issue a platform.
I agree that the Liberals and NDP shouldn't be running this province either but I will give them a bit of credit, they have laid out their platforms for criticism. Ford has not. I won't vote for them but Ford won't get my support until he informs the electorate of his plans. He has stated that he will bring out his platform before the campaign is over. Advance polls open on Saturday, I don't think he will lay out his platform by tomorrow.
If you think you are going to get a financial windfall from the firing of the CEO of Hydro One, I think you underestimate how much of your bill goes towards that person's salary (I thought I had heard somewhere it was in the neighbourhood of 50 cents per bill). Giving out a plan to actually give all the people a substantial reduction in the cost of electricity and the transmission of said electricity, that is something Ford should be giving in a platform, not on sound bytes that can be easily ignored. I agree with you that the next Premier will need a backhoe to get us out of the mess we created (yes I said we because we elected this government no matter which way you personally voted). To say this the Liberals did this by themselves is ignoring the fact that governments are elected in. The electorate voted them in and we got what we voted for.
I understand being sick and tired of career politicians. I am as well. Career politicians don't seem to respect the fact the taxpayer is footing the bill. However, going the other way with a rookie MP, and let's face it, that is what Ford is if he gets elected, who doesn't want to tell me how he wants to turn Ontario around as Premier isn't a great choice either.
Dyth
He CANT release his platform because the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of people on the public payroll will oppose it. The sad fact is that there are too many people on the government tit in this province, and the only way out is to cut it back.
You’re right Dyth, the morally correct thing to do would be to put the platform out there for all to see. Hudak style. Didn’t work so well.
An endorsement by Hurricane Hazel is huge. Any leader would kill for her support.
So,am I correct that most here think Doug Ford will be elected by NOT stating his party platform? Getting elected by a landslide without committing to anything that can be "spun" by the left is an interesting concept, for sure, and an exercise in sheer brilliance if it works. It would also be a testament to the fact that Ontarians have seen through the Liberal/NDP campaign bull (finally) and are ready for radical change for accountability.
Millions in the public service will oppose him regardless because he is the PC leader.
He is promising a lot of good things I would like to see implemented. However, I want to know how he is going to make up the shortfall of his promised 10 cent gas tax break, for example. Is he going to borrow more money, is he going to slash the budget or has he managed to find some magic money tree in his back yard that he is willing to donate to the people of Ontario.
Yellow dog touched on the fact he is tired of career politicians telling us how to run this province. I completely agree with him. I am also tired of the fact politicians in this country seem to think they can just do the minimum and we have a duty to elect them. Ford seems to believe he doesn't have to release a platform. I want to know what Ford's vision is for Ontario besides tax breaks because there is more to governing Ontario than just giving the tax payers some money back.
If Ford releases a platform, chances are I would agree with it the most out of the big 3 parties. However, he hasn't and that shouldn't sit well with any of his supporters.
Hudak's problem was outright stating he would cut 100 000 jobs right off the top. He stated specifics (by attrition for example) after the Liberals whipped up the electorate because he wasn't specific when he made his statement and he couldn't recover.
Dyth
Ford just needs to lie. That is what is expected and perfectly acceptable in Canadian elections. Get elected with a majority then do what you think needs done. Kim Campbell was right. Voters are mostly uninformed and care about sound bytes, tweets and what you look like. For about 1/3 of the population they will always vote with pro big government parties.
Don't you just love what the NDP candidates can get away with, attacks on military, remembrance day, Christmas and using Hitler pictures and quotes .... National SOCIALIST.... guess it fits them.
https://ipolitics.ca/wp-content/uplo...2.42.04-PM.png
NDP Candidate thinks "gun nuts" are threatening civil war and she would be happy if they were blown up by drones....
https://www.thepostmillennial.com/nd...drone-strikes/
The more they dig the bigger nutcases radicals the NDP has ....sanctuary province, tax increases, radicals and nuts, shut down nuclear plants (even though it is 50%+ of our power).......so for a name how about UCCCP (in deference to the old CCCP) , short for Union pandering Crazy Communist Cowards Party.
Hazel is still talking about Horwath and Wynne being bad choices though.
https://www.facebook.com/ontariopc/v...5769150504107/
Hudak's problem was the same as Ford's. No real plan on saving money.
Think about it: If you run a business and you're not doing well, do you line your employees up against a wall and fire every third one?
No. You make strategic decisions about exactly what activities you need to divest. Maybe outsource fabrication of a good, maybe get rid of your tech wing, maybe stop spending on advertising. These are real decisions.
Governments work the same way. They have departments that perform different services. You can't just fire every third person and expect the ship to keep sailing, you need to decide what services you are no longer going to perform. This is why "find efficiencies" from Ford is not different from "fire 100 000" from Hudak.
A REAL cost-saving platform would identify legislation to repeal, services to remove etc.
If any PC Candidates are reading this one, I'll give you a head-start. What does the LCBO spend on advertising in a year? Pull the plug on that. There, I just saved some money and didn't fire anyone. And I'd bet my last dollar that Ontarians will still buy liquor next year. If you just say you're going to fire the employees, we will be standing at registers with nobody to take our money.
The LCBO is an easy one, they have tried to expand into food and recipes, glossy vintage magazines, advertisements on line etc. they could be reduced, a few ads for the online buying (in the store near the line up :-) )to push some sales there (ALOT more selection, free ship to store or $12 if over $50 and $17 for next day.) and reduce the location hours even by 1 hour a day would add up to millions. I've ordered online and it works good and you can find items you never will see in a local LCBO! The only bad thing is some of their "in store only" items are located in a particular area only and not available to be shipped to other locations or purchased online which can be REALLY annoying!
Example: Canadian made Sake, intriguing and I wanted to order it last time and just check
.... 2 stores only http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/izu...ai-sake/406041
Canadian Made traditional cider.... no where near me.
http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/rood-apples/557520
or a wine I have had in the past but now is only in a couple locations far away

Like a pizza delivery for the convenience of getting it at home or the increased selection the online (especially of premium items) could be considerably expanded and people might grump at the delivery fee but will pay for the convenience.
There are also departments and ministries that have had bureaucrats added to so much that in the words of a woman I know "there is no work and we just sit around and talk or are on the phone all day".... McGinity and Wynne have added over 150,000 staff to the payroll and the extra wage goons they added to enforce their new rules would be a good start....all those added but there never seems to be the front liners like game wardens when they would do some good usually! The cuts even just by attrition would add up fast in a government as bloated as this one!
P.S.
I'm annoyed at you "benjhind"
Once I got on the LCBO page I got looking around and found they had the Sake I like back in stock.... and they had a Canadian made cream liquor I had never heard of that sounded good... and an intriguing Japanese Ale.... http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/hit...ale-ale/249788 I got the last 3 + more ...... by the time I got done I had added up over $400, I then thinned down the herd (one of them the mandarin sake only sold in 12 packs and was $200 when I looked at the cart) but still spent $150. I refuse to take the blame for my lack of will power and short attention span on a Friday after a week like this so I BLAME YOU! Of course if the beer, cream liquor and the cider are good I might say thanks later but right now I blame you!
Honestly Mosq that is the most levity I think I've ever seen from you on here. Hopefully your order turns out well!
With all the news here, UK etc. I could use a bit of relaxer I guess so levity starts after they chill in the fridge.... they arrived today! So thanks in advance! Some you probably know and some I might not get to for awhile but anything you want a review of in case you want to order and try?
Ardiel Cider House - Dry Cider,
Fukushougun Junmai Ginjo Sake, Hakutsuru Sayuri Nigori Sake
Teva Merlot 2015, Galil Mountain Merlot KP 2016
Cabot Trail Maple Cream
Hitachino Nest Pale Ale ** I got the last three in stock https://www.oodmag.com/community/ima...lue_shades.gif
, Asahi Dry
and a couple common ones most know that I could get at the local LCBO but it saved me a trip. Stocked for quite awhile now!
Back on topic
I see the PC's are ahead now in the polls, must be due to the last debate, it basically consisted of talking points and Andrea saying "you are lying Kathleen" and Kathleen saying "you are lying Andrea" and Doug pointing out the spending and flaws in both. Andrea wants a communist state owning and running everything and Kathleen wants a socialist state where the gov't owns 90% and both want to spend spend spend.... Both women were rude and tried to talk over the one who's turn it was repeatedly. They both looked absolutely desperate to get in shots, interrupt or get attention even with some of the questions right of an NDP script sometimes.
P.S.
Maybe Horwath isn't a communist so much as an entitled socialist after all.... there are some questions coming out about here expenses....
""In fact, between 2011 and 2014, the Ontario NDP paid $43,585.98 in clothing expenses for Horwath but filed them under travel, office supplies and advertising expenses.""
A good example of last night ...

Ever since the Courts ruled that campaign advertising didn't "necessarily" have to truthful, the BS meters have gone off the charts by the union crews. I had a donation cold call from the NDP's Horwath camp. They must have got my name from Unifor's membership list assuming that every active or retired union member were NDP supporters by default. The "pitch" started with the usual crap about Ford laying off hundreds of thousands of public servants, gutting hospitals, laying off nurses, raping socialist programs,,,,blah, blah, blah, then, asking for a $500 donation to "protect the middle class". This is just a guess, but,I'll betcha they never call again.
Just a summary of some of the NPD candidates...
http://torontosun.com/news/provincia...-sign#comments
the NDP candidate in Brampton East felt about Toronto Police.
“F— the Police,” said the protest sign that Singh, the brother of federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh, carried during a downtown demonstration
and others....
And the NDP is the choice of the people in second place. Scary isn't it.
Choice of the unionized people.... that do what they are told.... minions would be a good word.
P.S.
Just learned a new slang word today
crewcabanger - .A crewcabanger is a girl thats is so ty your whole crew can bang her!

Picking on the families of politicians is sinking a bit low..... Desperate times , call for desperate measures.
I feel for sad/sorry for families that have children that have difficulties such as mental illness for example especially at such a young age. I am not really sure if Andrea Horvath's son has any mental health issues but his appearance is like many young teenage boys or girls that express themselves in a variety of ways, fashion being one of them. I am not an NDP supporter but I applaud Andrea for including her son in this campaign .
Maybe I'm a dinosaur in today's society but wearing a T shirt like that is beyond me. I'm sure as a parent she can give him something more appropriate to wear.
I guess I look at it a bit different, I find it rather reprehensible that she is obviously dragging him around, he looks like he wants to be anywhere but there, wearing a deathmetal shirt insulting women and then going further with the piercings and add in the tatoos in the other suggest mental or emotional issues. I actually feel sorry for him he looks emotionally and mentally shut off in both pics. Maybe in her odd mind dragging him around and making him a public spectacle is something good in her view but with with no regard for his appearance she is just putting him out as a prop and target, that is what I think is really inappropriate and there may be a large need for a mental health expert.
If I wanted to pick on someone... there are lots of NDP, the Nazi quotes, F*** the police, $150 carbon tax, 911 denier, LEAP manifesto etc ..... or the 15% cut to teachers pay!

Wow , yikes I had no idea and surprised you would have such an opinion mosquito. I knew many people in the mid 1970's and early 1980's that were heavy into punk including myself that wore far worse. Majority of them today would be between 50 & 60 years old today are very well adjusted , have successful careers as well as successful parents.
I will vote, but will not vote for 3 main parties. All three are tools and don’t deserve my vote. Unfortunately, that means my vote has to go to either Green/Communist/Northern Ontario Party
The lyrics were often dark and loud true, but I know lots that still aren't well adjusted too and many that have been divorced, lost jobs etc many times etc. The biggest fan I knew of just that type of music is still serving jail time last I heard. Then look at that kid, the lyrics, piercings/tatooo and the words and the music itself .... I like Thousand Foot Crutch...(example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGpp4o5LYp0 ) but the words and mood of a song have long been shown to affect the mood of the person listening and the hate, anger etc. in a deathmetal group .... well I think he has real issues and just propping him up on display is pathetic and wrong.
There was a Libertarian party candidate on the ballot when I voted this week, there are several reasons I wouldn't vote for them but they would be a much better selection than the Green and Communist... don't know anything bout the Northern Ontario Party.
I understand where you are coming from and I am very familiar with all types of music especially the lyrics given my son and his wife are very involved in the music industry.. I know a few people in the financial industry that make well over $200 grand a year, dress in fine suits, drink the best wine, have beautiful homes and from the outside look like they have it all. In reality they are some of the most self centered, ego maniacs mean spirited , coc heads dysfunctional people you will ever meet.
My point is every industry has a small percentage sometimes more, of people with some serious issues but what they wear is not always an indicator. Does it look like Andrea's son has some issues ? How many of us when we were teenagers rather scrape gum from underneath a chair than hang out with our parents and smile the whole time. Just sayin.
Just read an article on Andrea's son and apparently he is nice all around level headed young man. He doesn't want a whole lot to do do with politics but supports his mother.

Platforms are nebulous thing. We've come to believe a well costed platform means something. The reality i that we rarely see the promises made come to fruition.
I think a better way to look at the parties is less about the specifics of what they are promising and more about the fundamental underpinnings of their political/economic philosophy.
Liberals are heavily on the socialist side. Very Keynsian in their world view. Big government solves all of the problems inside a somewhat capitalistic system. Think Denmark etc or maybe a little left of that.
Conservatives think that individuals are better at producing long term prosperity if government, for the most part, stays out of their way and doesn't act as a weight on momentum.
NDP...welllll. They are old world socialists. The party is founded on the same principals as every other socialist country. I'm not talking about Denmark. NDP believes in the same centralized control that every failed state such as Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Rusia, China etc has been founded on.
On any issue, regardless of what the platform says, you can be sure they each make decisions based on the fundamental view they have of the world.
Good, he looks like a real oddball though, in other pictures I didn't post he has a huge tattoo "Alone" across his stomach and alot more tattoos, I am hopefully wrong then. It would be hard to assume he didn't know how insulting that shirt was and since his mother is a woman I guess I made an assumption... the older pictures show him with the same studs and hair style too so maybe it is how he feels comfortable. Did it say he was working or in school or what?
It could be, I mean could you imagine the effect on the west and oil and trade with the US .... wait, it wasn't a night mare he is actually as bad as it seemed, strip tease events, taking money from charities.....
Well oddly or interestingly Unions are in a business relation ship with Unions through a for profit corporation... no wonder they took the back to work legislation off the tableQuote:

You have an alternative. You can decline to vote and tell all parties (the big 3 and others) that what you are offering me is not acceptable and you need to do better. If enough of the electorate did that, the parties would be scrambling to get out platforms which would appeal to those people.
Looks like he is not leaving the nest anytime soon. lol Very common today for people to dress that way(fashion) well into their mid 30's Terry. :) Heck a good buddy of mine is 53 years old and is a very creative chef ,owns his own restaurant and dresses like a 16 year old boy. He looks like he is in his late 20's and can get away with it. lol
