You mean the guns and drugs that cross the border by irregular methods right...
Hide the cutlery. They’re already banning folders. Whatever he does scares me. I don’t trust him.
I thought border security fell under the Minister of Public Safety's preview (with the Minister of Defense's imput). Seems like this new ministry is a do nothing job much like the Minister of International Trade Diversification.
I expect him to be Trudough's fall guy on gun control. He'll take the blame for attacks on law abiding gun owners, he's an old guy likely doesn't want to run again anyway.
Bill Blair? What the hell does he know about border security? Is he going to stop the influx of illegal border jumpers? Thats a security issue is it not? What a joke.
As I said...

and on that note Communist star is warming up...
Bill Blair should fix Canada’s gun law
https://www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...-violence.html
Here’s a short list of what can be done to give the gun legislation some sorely need teeth:
Ban handguns. There are now more than one million legal handguns in Canada — a number that has doubled in recent years. Honestly, other than a few competitive shooters under very controlled environments, who needs handguns in our country? Hunters certainly don’t use them. They are made to maim and kill people. The U.K. has a total ban on handguns; that’s one reason their death-by-firearms rate is one tenth of ours in Canada. Let’s join the British, the Australians and other countries by banning handguns.
Ban sniper rifles and assault weapons. Under the current legislation, the Ruger Mini 14 used to kill 14 women in the Montreal Massacre of 1989 would still be legal to buy in Canada. So are the types of sniper rifles used by our military in Afghanistan. What possible use can they have in a civil society? Ban them.
Help police trace guns. The Harper government ended the requirement — in place since 1977 — that gun dealers record firearm sales and make those records available to police when they need to trace guns. That 40-year-old requirement should be put back on the books.
Less penalties (C-75) for criminals, student funding etc. ......"sniper rifle" anyone have a bolt action with a scope??? .... it seems the left really and truly believes the honest citizens are the problem.... says something about their mind and morality!
Any takers on a bet that if they are below 25% support about 60 -90 days from the election they will do the above as gotcha and hail Mary pass to try and win with a 30 days notice and time to turn the firearms in?
.... and polls show.
Most Canadians back total ban on guns in urban areas, poll suggests
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/amp/...mpression=true
Let's see .... the announcement will have the points ...
- safety
- mental illness (after the recent shooting... I notice few are covering his travels etc.)
- rising crime
- majority of Canadians want a safe society (nice ambiguous statement that can be twisted how ever they want...)
- rising firearm numbers (like that is an issue...)
"Firearms imports exploded after Harper government killed gun registry"
https://ipolitics.ca/2017/06/16/fire...-gun-registry/
and of course
- people can't be trusted with firearms, even honest ones....

https://globalnews.ca/news/4349235/c...rce=GlobalNews
Should make quite the election issue... paranoia, lying and fear mongering .... with the $100,000,000 invested in the media and the usual buy ins.... might be their way to get elected.
Anything wrong with what B. Blair said? On CBC radio? LOL....
....
Liberals to look at 'full ban' on handguns, assault weapons
Bill Blair, minister of border security and organized crime reduction, will lead gun control review
https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/lib...ears-1.4801700
https://pm.gc.ca/eng/minister-border...august-28-2018
Support the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness on the passage of Bill C-71, and work together on additional policy, regulations or legislation that could reduce crime involving the use of firearms and keep Canadians safe. You should lead an examination of a full ban on handguns and assault weapons in Canada, while not impeding the lawful use of firearms by Canadians.
Do you think these boobs that have lied repeatedly, screwed up border security and got Mexico to side with the US on NAFTA etc. etc. can be trusted to do the ideologue thing or the right thing .... I am betting the ideologue!
.... all while reducing sentences.... C-75 .... after all the outright lies are finally gone but they are still blaming Harper and the misinformation is still there https://www.liberal.ca/realchange/guns/
You guys are talking about what the media is saying. Here is his Mandate Letter...you should be concerned.

I've never hated a government as much as I do this one.
It seems that like this is a good time to remind us of the b.s. (outright lies) that the Liberal's and their supporters have put out! Especially the complete lies and fear monger!

He was also asked whether the government knows where all of the people who have crossed into the country are, given that statistics shared by officials two weeks ago suggest only a couple hundred have actually been deported.
“I will tell you that we did experience a surge of people last year,” Blair said in response.
“We found a very small percentage of them were actually eligible to stay, and the overwhelming majority of those people have left.”
Following his remarks, Global News requested clarification from a spokesperson for Blair.
That’s because the number reported by the Toronto Star on Sept. 8, cites Canada Border Services Agency statistics that only 398 of the 32,173 people who crossed the U.S. border irregularly into Canada between April 2017 and August 2018, had actually been deported.
Of those, the report states 146 were sent back to the U.S., of which 116 had U.S. citizenship.
The rest were deported to Haiti, Colombia, Turkey and Iraq.
Translation for those that don't speak Liebral and just speak English "irregular" actually means they crossed illegally and not at a proper border crossing and rather than getting an automatic kick back over the fence the Liebral's are playing word games (see earlier issue Fed Issue ).
and according to Quebec the number deported amounts to less than one days arrivals
https://globalnews.ca/news/4146989/q...seekers-a-day/
I've read several times that police forces are finding more unrestricted FAs on the streets and that a significant number are coming from people who have PALs. These people are buying them for the purpose of reselling illegally, often modified. Nowhere that this was did it get into any details, numbers, pre/post registry nothing. Seemed very speculative, does anyone have any details with regards to this?
Bad guys don’t carry long guns. Any long guns that are seized as a result of the execution of search warrants are for the most part stolen or have been traded for drugs. I would also like to see the facts and figures relating to this assertion by the government. I don’t for one minute buy into the government’s assertion that most guns on the street are from legitimate sources.
The long gun registry was good for one thing, and that was allowing the police to identify the owners of these guns, when found in a crack house someplace!!!!!
Those numbers are an outright lie, their own stats show that, I will let Brian answer it...
http://brianlilley.com/no-50-of-guns...t-from-canada/
And even Global News....
https://globalnews.ca/news/4428617/m...me-statistics/
There’s no surge in guns traced back to Canada. There’s an ebb and flow across the years, but no “surge” post-2012. In fact, if you look carefully, you’ll see that while the number of guns sourced from Canada bounces up and down a bit, the overall trend is down.
...
Take 2017, for instance. Of the more than 1,700 firearms seized by Toronto police that year, only 330 guns could be linked to either Canada or the United States.
...
And there’s another revealing insight in the numbers released by the Toronto police: roughly half of the crime guns seized by Toronto police in 2017 were classified under Canadian law as “prohibited,” meaning they are virtually banned and only rarely possessed by any Canadian civilian (the only real exceptions are Canadians who owned said firearms before the current gun control classification system was introduced in the 1990s). Any kind of further crackdown on gun ownership in Canada would have extraordinarily limited impact on these guns, which, again, were half the crime guns seized in Toronto in 2017 (I haven’t crunched the numbers for each year going back to 2007, but prohibited guns are a major portion of the total in every year). These guns are effectively banned already. Is that not evidence that the debate about banning guns is missing the mark?
...
Clarification: Prohibited-class firearms can also include firearms that have been illegally modified.
For a handgun to be LEGALLY bought it is registered! So if they can't figure out the source their own numbers make the liars.
This is an interesting one on crimes in Canada upto 2016.
https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/.../54962-eng.htm
This was driven by a substantive increase (+68%) in gang-related homicides over that period. From 2013 to 2016, gang-related homicides occurring in CMAs almost doubled (from 65 to 121), driven by increases in Toronto (from 13 to 33), Edmonton (3 to 11), and Ottawa (0 to 7).
... and just to put a few numbers in perspective for 2017 here is another Stats Can report ... sexual assault, human trafficking...
https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/dail.../t001b-eng.htm
Just keep in mind, "illegally modified" could be anything from cutting a barrel to grinding a serial number.
Bill Blair, [ mister misinformed ] was on National News last night not apologizing , but saying that he was wrong in quoting the number of illegals being sent back to their countries.
edit; As it turns out only about 1 percent have been sent back , [last report as of yesterdays Sun ]
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/poli...ting-into-the/
Mr. Blair said illegal handguns are either smuggled into Canada from other countries, especially the United States, or “diverted” from legal domestic sources by criminals.
“We have got to look responsibly at both [streams] and take all the measures that can be effective in reducing the movement of guns from both the United States and the domestic market into the hands of criminals,” the former chief of the Toronto Police Service told reporters. “There is a diversion from the domestic market that needs to be addressed.”
He added that any solution proposed by the government will be based on evidence from Canada and around the world. “We will go and get the best available data. I want to be informed by the best [information] we can find,” Mr. Blair said.
Conservative MP Glen Motz, a former police officer with the Medicine Hat Police Service, said the federal government is playing politics by contemplating a handgun ban. He said he is particularly concerned that the government will change firearms laws without a guarantee that the measure will reduce crime.
“A handgun ban is not going to stop those who already have access to illegal firearms," he said. “Having a handgun ban consultation is in no way speaking to the issue.”
Appointed to cabinet in July, Mr. Blair is in charge of a series of complex files, including the legalization of recreational cannabis and the flow of asylum seekers entering the country from the United States. At the meeting of the public safety committee on Tuesday, Conservative MPs tried and failed to get Mr. Blair to state that he wants to put an end to all border crossings at unauthorized points of entry.
A Handgun ban and immigration ..... might be enough of a wedge for an election win.
So what will it be: centralized storage, bans ..... what do you think they can use to drive a wedge and with the media paid for ($100,000,000 per month to CBC and another 700,000,000 for the other media organizations) we can see the propaganda roll out like crazy soon, fear mongering and CPC wants to turn Canada into the US... just remember the outright lies on the ATT and fear mongering about people taking handguns to a ball game etc. (Just checked all the Justlied quotes (lies) are gone )
Stronger gun control recommendations to be presented to Trudeau soon, Blair says
https://globalnews.ca/news/4928214/g...ions-liberals/
*Note: remember that b.s. poll....
“When we’ve got it all compiled, I’ll take it back to him and share with him what Canadians have told us,” he said.
and of course there are the ideologues out there!
https://firearmrights.ca/en/doctors-...all-to-action/
University of Toronto surgeon and Professor, Najma Ahmed took up moonlighting as a social justice warrior, creating a website and social media campaign targeting legal gun owners. You read that right – not targeting the increasing gang violence we are witnessing across the nation, not focusing on the violent criminal element. No, Dr. Ahmed is content to isolate Canadian gun owners in her national attack on literally MILLIONS of law abiding sport shooters, hunters and collectors – the very people not responsible for the violence and carnage in the streets of her city
What’s worse, is she is openly using her credentials as a physician to do this, with of course great applause from the radical anti-gun lobby groups. In a Tweet she stated; “no civilian needs access to guns. The harms outweigh any benefit. The evidence is clear. Sign the petition to ban handguns; write your MP”
...
On her website, as terribly done as it is, she has a “national day of action” planned for April 3, 2019 calling for “stronger gun control laws, including passage of Bill C-71 and a handgun assault weapons ban”. Yes I know – she didn’t even get that terminology right. Don’t shame her to hard for it. It isn’t her area of expertise.
The mere fact that The Liberals have embarked on that cross-country dog and pony farce espousing half truths along with "fake news" and outright lies should send every firearm owner to the polls on election day to cast their vote against their local Liberal candidate. If we do that and every other Canadian votes against the rest of the LPoC platform for any number of a myriad of screw ups, there's no way they can form another government.
Not gonna happen. The Parliamentary petitions prove it.
This was later found to be a lie as there was nothing to back it up, the TPS admitted that.
Bill Blair is the quintessential “dumbass” as was evident during his time as commissioner of the TPS and by the fact his contract wasn’t removed.
What was is Einstein said “Lunacy is doing the same thing over and over with the expectation of a different result”. The Liberals love gun control but it has yet to show much in the way of positive results.

Minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction Bill Blair said implementing a national handgun ban is still on the table, and would not rule out issuing a federal order instead of legislation given the limited window of Parliamentary time.
I listened to him on Question Period this morning. It makes one wonder how any of the officers serving under him could stand the guy. His non-answers and dancing around a straight forward question showed he's long been a politician through and through and at some point in his life he possibly, perhaps, maybe, might have been an acceptable street cop.
Police chiefs are all politicians.
Both believed there was a value to having the registry. Sorta like the two ugliest people at the dance will for sure end up in bed together at the end of the night.
.
Having met with Bill Blair weekly for a number of years, I can say that if you put politics aside , he is a compassionate , kind, considerate man.
Well the ideologues at Doctors 4 protection from Guns is off to a roaring start after C-71.... wonder where they get their funding.

Let's see....
- payoffs to the press with Liberal supporters picking where that $600,000,000 goes
- gun bans (or atleast some trying to get bans)
- divisiveness and dehumanizing comments about some groups.
- calls for censorship
- even gov't controls of business (although on a small scale so far, pipeline)..... too far I guess.... unless we see them nationalizing the wireless 5G .... with Huawei providing the equipment..... https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opin...d-from-our-5g/

As far as I’m concerned BB is a snake, lacking a basic understanding of integrity, what it means to be a stand up guy, how to own anything or what leadership actually means.
It’s bad enough as the CoP that he ran away from the G20. More damning that he threw a mid level underling under the bus.
Nope, I knew his mother, father, brother and wife. In his case the apple did not fall far from the tree, the entire family are wonderful people, all you could hope for in humanity. Seems like you say that in a derogatory way. As some type of insult. Why? Many families have more than one adult generation under one roof. Outside of N. America it is the norm. With the price of homes it will soon be de rigueur here as well. Do you have children?

Well in terms of ethics and lies he has even Justlied Trudeau beat in the ability to lie and distort and divide people and that is truly a disgusting record of lying! So he is the best ... at lying, at fear mongering and distorting the truth it seems .... some might like that skill...

Well unfortunately for you he is the Minister and you are not.His party is in power and your's is not.
The outlook for your choice of party is bleak in Canada so I suppose your only option is to continue on here writing endless
posts with endless links that nobody really read's,as most are on here for hunting and fishing.Sorry my friend.
Well I would say unfortunately for Canada given the lies, coverups, ethics violations, treatment of vets/women/reserves, fear mongering, spending and complete disaster for Canada's next 2 generations atleast .... the National Socialists were voted into power in Germany, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and I can go on and on historically... and the people voted for PM blackface Trudeau and Bill "never the truth" Blair... Proverbs 6:12 fits I believe...
But hey you seem unconcerned about the future, the lies, the unethical behaviour...... and telling the truth you seem to think is a waste of time and you only seem happy that they are in power .... guess that makes you Proverbs 6:12 too. Sad

As for "friend", the Bible has alot to say about them ... your views, your moral stance, your trustworthiness, your attitude ... can I speak honest and expect honest answers... no evidence. Can I trust you... no evidence that would be a good idea, could I count on you to help ...possible but also very unlikely .... so friend is not an applicable term... I have friends and brothers from many continents and many colours but nope... maybe someday when you get your heart right.
It must be the socialist coming out of you to think it is ok to have an adult child living in their basement? I was raised to look after myself and not to suck the hind tit of mummy or daddy or society in general. Man up and make a life for yourself was the way it was explained me.
As for our buddy Jocko, he's great at slamming others on here, so i just like to remind him of his own pitiful situation. He sure doesn't like the tables turned on him and he's getting very adept at skulking off to lick his wounds. He needs to taken to task!
BM that was a vile comment. Someone’s life is 'pitiful', because an adult offspring lives at home? Disgusting really, when you do not know the situation or under what circumstance or reason, (special needs, fleeing domestic abuse, etc.) why an adult offspring would remain at home. I ask again, do you have children?
BM have you looked at the price of houses lately? There is precisely no shame in binding together as a family and making it through hard times together. Moreover, when I'm old and grey and full of sleep, I fully expect to live with one of my relatives where I can get some semblance of kinship rather than rotting away in my own bachelor apartment, full of pride and loneliness.
I want it to be known that there have been requests to shut this thread down, but we have Forum members who've posted on it who are sadly no longer with us, so it seems a slight on them to remove it. Please keep it clean people.
Well that's all fine and dandy when a person is "old and grey". They have created a life for themselves and obviously drilled into their children to do the same, otherwise that "old and grey" person won't have a place to go will they? That's part of the problem in our society today, so many are taught that it's ok to live off the avails of others. It's the liberal way! No responsibility for themselves, no care about who looks after their basic lifes needs, as long as someone else will do it for them.
I would much rather live my life and end my days with "pride" than with shame. Obviously there are many out there who haven't grasped such a simple concept?
Bush,
You sound a little angry at the world and are taking things to seriously, enjoy yourself and your fellow hunters and try and remain positive.
So heres 3 personal examples from my life about people living at home.
1) have a brother with a mental illness that he lost his house and job over. Hes rehabilitating himself at my parents and is on the right track now, just got a sweet 6 figure job so I think he will be ok. If he didnt have my parents support he probaby would have hung himself or jumped infront of a train. So sad you think this is unacceptable to get help from your family.
2) A cousin with brain damage and special needs also live at home still, his brother also has autism and needs to be around a stable caregiver which his father is doing for him
3) I have a cousin who in finances who sold his house, moved back home so he can re-invest in his business so he can be more successful in the near future and doesn't have to decide between creating a business or supporting his family. My aunt invited him back to help him out. He very likely manages your pension if you have one with one of the big providers, and currently managing it from his mom's basement.
Obviously you being an older fellow you dont understand or are aware of the financial situation myself and others in my cohort were given the pleasure of dealing with. Unfortunately the generations before us didnt do a good enough job protecting the economy and environment so my generation is stuck cleaning up the mess of generations passed whos average family income was much higher statistically then my generation.
I moved out when I was 19 and got an education I paid for and still paying for. No help from anyone I did everything myself BUT many in my generation struggle. Employers dont hand out pensions and good wages like your generation was privy to. Cost of living is always rising and the goods we buy now aren't built to last like they used to be. Who allowed globalization in? Surely not my generation.
I dont have to post any proof, the statistics are all readily available that show the current and future generations are struggling financially compared to those past. The economy is drastically different then it was in the glory days of the 70s 80s and 90s. Maybe if previous generations made smarter decisions and thought about the future we wouldn't be stuck in the position many in the newer generations are stuck with.
So either get your head out of your arse or stop criticizing what you don't understand. Most people are critical of what they dont understand and you would do yourself a favor to educate yourself before you criticize. Have a nice day.
Of course then you have the guy who's too lazy to work and has a million excuses why he can't find a job. Or too lazy to do his own laundry, or learn how to cook for themselves. That's the same guy/gal who lays around on the couch all day and only gets out to buy his smokes and weed. I think these are the characters BM is talking about.
And I'm sure we all know a few of these fine, constructive citizens.
Well Sawbill he is actually making reference to my son, because I complained about some of this generation taking a little to long to fly the nest.So my son has worked basically full time since he was 17 years old and he has now turned 29 years old.
He actually is out on his own now and has been for the past couple of weeks.
Like the poster above your reply my wife and I have been helping my handicapped BIL this past full year after his wife had him charged and thrown out of his home. The charges were all dropped but trying to reconstruct the financial life of a man with cerebral palsy and several other physical handicaps has been difficult. This BIL is almost 60 years old and has never missed a day of work in his life, despite having a limp and the use of one hand.
Bushmoose is just making the mistake of generalizing everybody as having the same type of son in the basement.Shame really.
hmmm so that stereotype didnt exist back in BMs day growing up? Ill call BS on that every day of the week. I think now with all the media its easier to expose different situations that others were not in tune about before the advent of the internet.
Either way, better to get this topic back on topic before the back on topic police step in. Beat you to it!
If I have to explain this to every nit wit playing on the keyboard, then we're all in trouble. All examples you used, except #3, would be worthy of help in some ways. Running back to get help from mommy, as is the case with your number 3 example, not so much, IMO but you carry on.
Wow ...I can't believe someone thinks we had it economically easier in the 70/80s.....small example: I remember mortgages where 18% and higher. A family making $80K a year only qualified you for a $120K mortgage...try buying a house, even back then without your parents help.
Yea the glory days, most people drove rusty old cars, no one could afford buy a new one....everything we owned was bought used.
The worst decisions that was made back then was not teaching our kids that you had to work for everything you had. No one laid around watching TV and playing computer games in the basement...you didn't have time ..you had a job. There was no grabbing a $20 from Mom on the way out the door for lunch.
The only thing you were stuck with is ending up with the unrealistic expectations of what life was suppose to be like from what you watched on TV. We didn't have that problem.
Well said. But we are now in the "me, me, me society" and they all feel they are owed something without having to work for it. And of course anything that makes life difficult is someone else's fault.
Sure the world is changing, but if you want to work there is lots of work out there. Problem is everyone thinks they deserve to walk into a great job and not work their way up to it like all the pervious generations did. I remember making $3.50 an hour at my first job, and was happy to have it. Today minimum wage jobs are just underneath our youth. And they wonder why we have to have immigrants that are happy to come in and work for that.

NO sir Gilly, he's a liar and d-bag, nice guy like him would get KOed around my crowd..lol.
The votes he gets makes the rest of this country realize how many brain dead, gullible morons reside in the tyrants riding.
It has nothing with the quality of Conservative representatives, the problem, is the people quality. Apparently there's more sheep in the city than the farms lately.....lol...baaaa...baaaa
Well baa baa black sheep how come you Kint git voted into power.

Well remember, you are talking to a Lib supporter.... ISIL can contribute to Canada, payoffs to terrorists without a legal fight and yet they fight vets...

Lies about budgets, ethics, SNC, Jody W.R., Admiral Norman, etc.etc.
Interfering with police investigations, treatment of people on reserves and women etc.
Heck, they think even Blair is honest and doing a good job....

Based on the evidence I would concur but the Liberal supporter has a different moral standard...
“A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims... but accomplices” - George Orwell
Honesty, respect, integrity, truth, hard work, empathy ... just not Liberal ideals based on the evidence.
mosquito,
Try and go to your happy place.
Sounds weak as the Liberals are in power.
It's ok if gun laws were passed the issue wasn't resolved and because of that there is more shootings then ever before.
[emoji106]. So just because they passed a law it doesn't mean jack . The problem remains the same or accually worse.
So the question is what Did they do to prevent or stop the shootings on our streets. ?
Nothing [emoji23][emoji1787][emoji2957]
So if nothing was done to curb the problem they have done nothing . Taking the guns from law abiding citizens didn't do anything . What have they done to stop the shootings?
Don't say carding because they are eliminating the carding in Edmonton. Yes that's right They still card there and they are ending it. They will move to allow each officer to 4 checks a year.
Why because it is a disgrace they over abuse the power .

The MAJORITY did not vote Liberal, more voted Conservative actually as for the ban I guess virtue signalling based on lies are still the way of the Liberal...
Memo shows Trudeau knew Nova Scotia gunman used smuggled guns
https://torontosun.com/opinion/colum...-smuggled-guns
"a briefing note presented to Trudeau just days earlier that told him all the guns used by Gabriel Wortman were illegally obtained.
As first reported by Ryan Tumilty in National Post, Trudeau was briefed on the mass murder of 22 people in Nova Scotia on April 24 with details the RCMP have still not made public. Wortman, a man with a troubled past, who was active in drug and cigarette smuggling, had used three guns smuggled in from the United States and one obtained illegally in Canada.
Still, Trudeau told us on May 1 that his gun control measures were about stopping such events."
If we had a two party system like in the States. Those NDP and Green Party voters would be much more likely to vote liberal than conservative. Resulting in a landslide victory for the left. The majority of Canadians vote left of centre.
I see multiple arrests all the time by my local police and others in the GTA,gun's seized, drugs, Toronto just took down two shooters last week at the Bay Street Canadian Tire, they had on them 3 handguns,up to 28 charges and counting ,both suspects did at least 3 shootings...
Let's say Mosquito what you just wrote was 100% true, lets play out the next election scenario.
" Hello fellow Canadians my name is Erin O'Toole and I m running to be the next Prime Minister of Canada,I know your upset about the economy and the future as myself and my party. But I would like to address you on a much more important matter GUNS, yes folk's GUN'S are on the top of my mind. Now I am not talking any old guns, I,am talking semi automatic assault rifles.
I know you are fearful about terrorist attacks as we have seen in Europe and School shootings,Mosque shootings, and our very own Mass shooting's here in Canada.
But don't worry be happy, I want to keep my pledge to the Canadian gun owner's to reinstate their ownership of all types of guns and this will be my top priority. What do you think of me so far.
Because firearm owners are the most well-trained,investigated,surveiled and vetted citizens in the country as a condition of ownership, there should be ZERO restrictions on whichever firearm they choose to own. I'd vote ofr a candidate who was intelligent enough to realize and understand the concept of freedom and liberty in a heartbeat.
I think the people with even a pea size brain will remember the lies and corruption from our tyrant liberals.
All as Erin has to tell people is that nearly 2000 types of guns were banned from licensed owners for public safety and the shooting have increased across the country because the Trudeau government refuses to take responsibility when it come to tackling crime. They would rather attack responsible licensed owners because liberals lie to the sheep to buy the cowards and criminals vote.
The gullible and criminals are the only people that vote liberal...lol
Let's say that you we look at the reality and use logic and evidence... oh wait...
"We now have the proof in the briefing note presented to Trudeau on April 24 by National Security Advisor Vincent Rigby.
“The RCMP has confirmed that the suspect did not have a Firearms Acquisition Certificate,” the memo reads, using the old term for a gun licence.
The memo goes on to detail how Wortman had a Colt Law Enforcement Carbine sourced from a gun shop in California and smuggled into Canada as well as two pistols smuggled in from Maine. He also had a Ruger Mini-14 sourced to a Canadian store, but the memo doesn’t say how Wortman obtained it since he would not have been allowed to legally buy it in Canada."
Let's take a step back and imagine... I mean just suppose that Trudeau and Bill Blair told the truth....
- there would be about $100B not spent and 2019 would be a balanced budget.
- Openness and accountability and respect would be shown ... but aren't
- vets would have got millions into their budget and the convicted terrorist would still be in court.
- an indigenous woman would have kept her job as Attorney General, Phillcott and Caesar-Chavannes and other women treated fairly
- airport screening would have started 2 months earlier and there might be as many as thousands still alive that died from COVID
- At least a few of the 2,000,000,000 trees would have been planted.
- There wouldn't be .22 and 410 firearms on the banned list.
etc. etc.
just pointing out another Liberal virtue signalling while ignoring real issues that require fixing. I really hope as more and more information comes to light about the Liberal's policies and decisions and agendas that there will be a light at the end of the dark tunnel we are in. People need to take responsibility for their decisions and actions and who they vote for ...
“A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims... but accomplices” - George Orwell
When a people are ignorant of history, disregard the implications of their votes and choices that is where we get parties like the National Socialists of 1930's Germany elected and others.... heck they are even ignoring what the Liberal's are openly saying and making things up that fit their ideology not the ideology of the politician.
https://torontosun.com/news/local-ne...ts-80-suspects
Last year they arrested 80 and seized 23 firearms, drugs etc. ... and this year is worse than last for firearm violence (with illegal firearms).... most were likely free by this year.... I believe it was Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders that referred to the revolving door in regards to gangs.
Gentlemen,
I think your missing the whole point of my post, the gun issue has been "weaponized" by BOTH MAJOR political parties in this country for better or for worse.
We are merely collateral damage with it hitting you harder or softer depending on where you started out in the gun owning.
Personally I have all the same guns as I did have 40 years ago and other than some bothersome paperwork I believe myself and the majority of hunters are not to badly affected.
But my post is to highlight to you IMHO that ERIN O'TOOLE is going to serve up platitudes to you on restoring certain gun classes and ownership.I do not think he will touch this issue with a ten foot pole.
The reason being not a winner of votes in any form. What exactly will he say when he first CBC reporter or otherwise ask's him the question "Mr O Toole are you prepared to allow citizens to possess semi automatic assault rifles".
The question will box him right into a position and the urban vote, female vote and even the vote of most hunters and farmers goes out the window.IMO
Prime minister O Toole will be great for Canada.
What Erin O'toole might do is tell the people and the cameras the truth.
He would probly answer with, assault weapons have always been prohibited, an assault rifle has selective fire, making it fully-automatic, the liberals banned non-restricted and restricted semi-auto firearms that are used by and for hunters and shooters. Maybe try and wake up the pea brained sheep to reality..lol.
Personally I do not think Erin would go near this topic as there are way to many bigger fish to fry,in fact he would probably not want to be asked that type of question. But as you know Politics is a blood sport,so that question will be asked.
It does not help even if he explains the history and classification,it will not resonate with the majority of liberal voters or ndp voters, they are not interested and will vote the same way as last time.
Now is there enough voters who could be swayed into supporting the reinstatement of the old classifications, I would say no.
He's already made his position clear:
Quote:
CPC leadership candidate says he will “stop the Liberal soft on crime approach for partner violence and criminal use of weapons.”
Conservative Party leadership candidate Erin O’Toole is pledging to repeal the Trudeau Liberal gun ban:
“As PM, I’ll scrap the politically-motivated ban announced by Trudeau today and will focus on working with border and law enforcement on stopping illegal gun smugglers.
I will also stop the Liberal soft on crime approach for partner violence and criminal use of weapons.”
As PM, I’ll scrap the politically-motivated ban announced by Trudeau today and will focus on working with border and law enforcement on stopping illegal gun smugglers.
I will also stop the Liberal soft on crime approach for partner violence and criminal use of weapons.
— Erin O'Toole (@ErinOTooleMP) May 1, 2020
You'd be wrong....here’s Erin not going near this topic: HaHa...
Quote:
“There’s a big difference between me and Justin Trudeau.
I believe that you make communities safer by supporting law enforcement and cracking down on criminals. Justin Trudeau does not support either of these policies and chooses time after time to mislead and divide Canadians.
In response to a convicted criminal committing a horrific attack with illegal weapons, Trudeau ignores illegal gun smugglers and is soft on criminals who commit domestic violence – that can tragically be a precursor to murder. Instead, the Trudeau Liberals hope to confuse Canadians with misleading claims about law-abiding firearms owners and their property.
To politicize a tragedy like this is beneath the dignity of the office of Prime Minister. It is an insult to the victims and a disgusting attack on the rights and freedoms of all Canadians.
This would be true even if the Prime Minister’s plan would actually save lives. The fact that it won’t save a single life makes it even worse.
Let’s be clear – this isn’t about preventing crime. It’s about dividing Canadians. They want to divide rural versus urban Canadians. They want to divide Canadians who hunt or enjoy sports shooting versus those who don’t. In the heels of a tragedy the Liberals use misleading and loaded terms like “assault-styled” to try and scare people and convince them to turn on their neighbours or co-workers who the Liberals claim are a risk to public safety.
I won’t let the Trudeau Liberal mislead and divide Canadians on the topic of firearms ownership anymore. I am going to call out their lies and their divisive tactics.
And when it comes to public safety – I have a better plan.
Part one is to stop criminals from getting illegal guns by finally going after the criminal networks that smuggle weapons into our country from the United States. We have a strict system of screening, training and licensing that does a good job of stopping criminals from legally buying guns. Canadians need to know that the problem rests with the border. It is still too easy for gangs to smuggle and deal in illegal guns. I have a plan to stop this.
The second part of a plan to tackle gun violence is to finally take real action against domestic violence. You may wonder why this is part of this plan. It’s for a very simple reason. We have seen time and again that the criminals who commit attacks of violence almost always start off by abusing their spouse or partner. For far too long we have let these terrible people who commit domestic violence off with a slap on the wrist. This not only does a massive disservice to their innocent victims who are left to suffer – it also puts the broader community at risk. It’s time for tough mandatory minimum sentences for those who assault their spouse or partner. It’s also time to make it much easier for victims to secure protective orders. I have worked on these issues for over a decade and will make it happen as Prime Minister.
It’s time to get serious about violent crime. It’s time to stop the Liberal approach of dividing Canadians.
The current Prime Minister isn’t serious. I will be”
MikePal,
Erin O'toole has more than the pea sized brain the liberal party possess. He is a man with a common sense plan, a smart, honest, working leader who speaks the truth
Smuggled guns. When he says, 'I have a plan", why does he not tell us it?
I would think he would tell all voters so they can decide if they agree with his plan and then would vote for him. Or maybe he is not confident enough that it would pass scrutiny. I would think you would want to hear about the plan, before you vote for it.
Criminals don't vote. Law abiding citizens who want rid of them do. So tell them your plan, if people agree with it ,they will vote for you. That sir is common sense. C-man is it possible to have one conversation or post without hurling insults? Name calling distracts from your point, and is so immature.
Criminals don't vote, are you kidding or are you off your meds? Of course they vote, how the hell else do you think the liberal party could ever win an election? Are you insane, common sense is getting hard to come by. Poor Canada, its no longer true north strong and free. Its due north full of friggin sheep.
How can you explain anything to heard of sheep when the only response you'll ever get is ....baaaa...baaaa
C-man ....Your posts are beginning to more and more, reveal your intellect.
Sorry Fishermccann, what I can't seem to comprehend is how ones belief system does not include common sense thought process?
Forgive me, I have not graduated to that level. I'm not sure if I have what it takes?
Actually your idea sounds great we could all just pay an extra 100 bucks a week to a criminal until their well enough off to no longer be a criminal.
I have never mentioned any plan of how to get rid of criminals. I don’t know. I want to hear how the conservatives plan to stop cross boarder smuggling. More officers, hands on checks of every car and transport crossing over.? More money to boarder services?Line ups for hours and hours to get across. Increasing the penalty for getting caught? What about on native land? Every one seems to mention that problem, what is his solution? He has not outlined anything. Just I have a plan. Well let’s hear it. .
There is huge demand for illegal guns in this countries cities. Common sense would ask why is there a huge demand that brings a flow of illegal guns into our country. I think any amount of common sense would suggest, if the demand is no longer there, the flow is no longer. Can you fill in the rest of the equation of how to stop the demand?
Voters should not have to fill in the blanks .Politicians who want to be elected ,should tell us their plan to prevent ‘demand ‘ if they want our vote.
Yeah.... bans worked so well on marijuana, cocaine, heroine... heck the reserves make a huge amount on smuggled cigarettes. Human trafficking comes up in my news feeds often.... they decided legalizing marijuana was the way to go... but legalizing carrying handguns... heck any self defence beyond crying in a corner and peeing yourself is frowned upon by the left... when you think about it they don't want you to defend yourself, they don't want you to think or be confident (just listen to CBC and do as told) ... they want you stoned and relying on them blindly for the thinking and given the W.E.F. 2030 agenda Trudeau said COVID is the opportunity they want you dependent on the gov't for all your possessions too. So essentially the equivalent of a serf.... maybe even call it the seigneurial system after the French system....
The only way to have an impact is longer sentences, better border controls (especially at reserves) and better legal repercussions like property seizure of the avails of crime etc. ... all things Libs stand against.
With funding from Doug Ford, the police services created a relatively successful common sense program called "Project Community Space" last summer. Things like this work.
Like the fact it brings in question the 'bail' program that lets these guys back out onto the streets.
Quote:
Officers arrested 463 people, laid a total of 1,145 charges and seized 247 guns during Project Community Space. The 15 week project, which began last summer.
Project include bail compliance checks
Of the 463 people arrested, 97 people were out on bail for firearm-related charges. Sixteen were charged with new weapons offences, while 81 were charged with other offences, including robbery, assault with a weapon and sexual assault.
Watts said police conducted 2,392 bail compliance checks and 88 offenders were found to be not complying with their bail conditions. A total of 46 of the 88 were arrested.
Of the 1,145 charges laid, 28 per cent were firearms-related, he added.
Quote:
THE PROGRAM
Project Community Space took a three-pronged approach to reduce violent offences and firearm-related crimes in Toronto:
Increase police presence in “at-risk” neighbourhoods. The intention was that increasing police visibility would make residents feel safer and reduce criminal activity in these areas.
Community outreach. Toronto’s Guns and Gangs Task Force sought to better engage the community, providing community programs and informational sessions.
More proactive monitoring of bail compliance. Police were more active in checking to make sure people were following bail conditions. In particular, they focused on people on bail for firearms offences and violent crimes.
THE RESULTS
Even the most stringent critics should admit, Project Community Space did deliver results. In just under 4 months, hundreds of arrests were made as a result of the program:
463 Arrests
1145 Charges
317 Firearms-related charges
212 Breach of bail
121 Violent offences
495 Other
Do you want to ban guns? I sure don't.
To be honest I don't think Trudeau gave his gun ban to the public untill after he was elected. He was to ban guns the at 15 the least use gun on the streets lol.

The election is as soon as the NDP and Liberals disagree in a confidence vote.
Seems National Police Federation and Bill disagree.....
https://npfcontent.ca/wp-content/upl...S-Final-EN.pdf
Costly and current legislation, such as the Order in Council prohibiting various firearms and the proposed “buy-back” program by the federal government targeted at legal firearm owners, does not address these current and emerging themes or urgent threats to public safety. It also does not address:
•criminal activity,
•illegal firearms proliferation,
•gang crime,
•illegal guns crossing the border or
•the criminal use of firearms.
In fact, it diverts extremely important personnel, resources, and funding away from addressing the more immediate and growing threat of criminal use of illegal firearms.
No I did not. Why do you keep stating a false narrative. To support a political party does not mean you support all of their policies. Get real . Do you agree with absolutely everything that the party you support proposes? I somehow doubt it.
What Erin O Toole writes about what he intends to do and what he will do are two completely different things. If you look at the recent U.S. I did not hear a peep about "gun control" in anybody's election platform nore was it asked of any of the two main candidates in the televised debates. How come.
So the Liberals had this ban as part of their election promises right up front. No hidden agenda.
Canadians voted on that platform and they won the election.
This is a wedge issue so I do not think Erin O Toole will push on this issue because the "jury is already out" on it as per the last election.
In relation to domestic violence this is a very slippery slope and I can tell you that you need to be real careful here.
Police officers were basically "ordered'" over 25 years ago that if they attended any domestic call where any alleged violence took place "a charge will be laid". No if,end or but.
So today the situation is even worse, officers are so scared of losing their jobs that you can bet your bottom dollar somebody is going to get arrested.
Right now my wife and I are looking after my BIL was has cerebral palsy and a few physical handicap's. Despite that he has worked the last 30 years every day without fail.
Anyway his wife decided she wanted out of the marriage because my BIL did not want to support her adult son who was idle,
she decided to call the police and alleged six criminal offences he committed against her.She was supported by the son and a girlfriend,he was unable to explain himself to the police, they locked him up and did not even take a statement from him.
The end result he was thrown out of his home, almost committed suicide and has been living with us for a year.
No proper investigation by the police, her third marriage, she had a criminal record.
All the charges were dropped by the Crown without going to trial as he agree to a 1 year peace bond to get rid of her.
He has now lost his home and suffers from ill health.
So Erin might be well meaning with this domestic issue but does he really know what is going on and has been going on for the past 25 years and generally the male in the relationship getting the short end of the stick. This is not an even playing field.
If you add a husband's possession of even ONE FIREARM into this mix and an allegation of its use or threatened use then bend over gentlemen?
It depends on many-any other plans they might have. How a party handles gun violence is not the only reason, (the be all or end all) ,whether I would vote for them. I do not vote for a particular party based on one particular issue, but the entire policy package. If every other important to me, policy was the same , 'I sure would'.
You know the reason for this problem is liberalization in this country. Liberal governments like to demonize gun owners with their bought and paid for media.
It was your tyrant buddy Blair who claimed head of the CCFR said gun owners will open up on police which women and children will get caught in the cross fire if they try to take their guns. The sheeple eat that shyte up because they are told how to think.
Here’s what the rank and file RCMP think of Billy Liar’s gun confiscation scheme......
https://www.newswire.ca/news-release...801443067.html
I don't necessarily disagree with you but it would take decades to turn around what is already in place. At one time police officers could use their discretion in a lot of circumstances and the job got done. With successive governments of both stripes that has been eroded and the officers today are drawn from the population of citizens now in Canada.
Which makes more sense going after gang bangers or going after lawful owners and yes it is that simple?
The statement that these are dangerous guns because they look military, does that mean if I put a military stock on my Mossberg 835 it becomes more dangerous?
Trudeau's government indicated it did.
"The National Police Federation (NPF) was certified to represent ~20,000 RCMP front-line Members serving across Canada and internationally in the summer of 2019, and its elected national Board of Directors confirmed in early 2020"
Rick,
I am again confused by the position you take on these matters along with those on the forum,IS THIS THE SAME RCMP you guys lambasted for their handling of the High River incident gun seizures. Is this the same RCMP who re classified all those guns
that you guys are upset about? Is this the RCMP who has such a "toxic" workplace that they are being sued by their own members and have their own commissioner on the telly the other day saying she is going to sort out this mess?
You should know the difference between the RCMP member on the road and their senior admin. Kind of like the MTPA, and the corrupt lying ex-chief....Billy Liar !
This is the position of the union, not the powers that be, you know, the men and women who are actually doing the work. For the most part, they are as fine a group of professionals, anywhere. Their senior command...not so much ! There are, and have been serious problems with their senior admin for years. I did a secondment to them back in the late 70s, early 80s. There was real problems then, and from all accounts, there still are.
I was referencing William Butler Yeats: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poe...en-you-are-old
The toxic workplace problem is not being perpetrated by senior management that is at the rank and file level. The RCMP in my estimate have always had money to throw around but lacked street wise officers, most RCMP were trained in drug enforcement
and undercover work by big city police.A new RCMP recruit should be seconded to a large city police department for their first two years, that would get them up to speed right away and set them up for the rest of their career, they would also learn what city life is about.
M. I had to laugh at that one.
There is already an uprising but the message has been drowned out.I think this is what gun owners are saying.LOL

Thank you Oaknut..
I could give a rats arse what you or anybody calls me.
A snowflake is the person that would cry to the mod about the name calling, "loser" in the first place.
Stop penalizing people when you're doing it yourself. Loser vs toddler, was my point.
This behavior is on full display, mainly by the left every single day. I'm sick and tired of it and have no problem defending that point every time.
Whoa there pardoner. I never called anyone a loser or a toddler, nor did I complain to the mods about anyone. You are confusing me and Meg I think. Anyone who has been reading this forum over the years would attest, that the majority of the name calling is directed AT those voting left of center.
Awe no, you were condoning it with laughter.
It didn't surprise me that you laughed about it, that's all.
What's good for me is not good for thee.
That's today's standard of the left. Going to come to an end real soon by the looks of things.
TigBoy has been warned about blanket-statement insults and reactionary replies. This is the behaviour that shuts down threads, and ruins it for the people engaging in honest debate and discourse. Calling someone out for tantrum-ing after repeated warnings could be construed as name-calling, I suppose, but surely you'll agree it's slightly different to say "All (nouns) are losers" versus "This one individual is acting like a child." Now we're into semantics, however.

Liberals like FishermCan don't really care about crime he is more about disarming the law abiding citizens.
The problem using "disarm" provokes in my mind an "armed citizen" which brings in self defence, look at all the citizens that went down that road and got charged. However after looking at the CBA documentary last night on the NS mass shootings
it might well be time clearly worded gun laws in relation to self defence and protecting your family are enacted. This would force the Liberals and NDP to state out publicly that they would never allow this. The opposition would then point out to Canadians that police services especially the RCMP in rural area's are not able to adequately protect the citizens in a timely manner.
Did you notice how few reports were made about tat incident. because everything he had was reported prior and the RCMP dropped the b all. The RCMP new very well he had no PAL and that he had guns (Including a RCMP issues handgun stolen). He had a replica car RCMP knew about it). Notice how Trudeau stopped using it as an example. Because the RCMP screwed up everything.
This guy was flagged as having guns illegally, had tried to have people buy him more gun's and ammunition and had been visited by the RCMP and no guns seized. The fact he had the four RCMP replica cars should have been a big red flag. This will probably never happen again in that area because people will defend themselves. The fact this guy dressed up as a COP also
threw a spanner into the works and is a pretty hard thing to prepare for.
This is good for democracy.
I agree with you 100% elections are great for a democracy but just not in the middle of a global pandemic. The way I see it there are a lot of people that are angry and a lot of people that are scared and this is NOT the time for an election. The last thing we need is for the election to get into a 'what are you going to do for me quagmire' - we cannot afford topics or discussions on basic income, waiving the tax payment on CERB, or any other policy that will cost us money. As a nation we are broke. We are living well past our means and need to have a come of Jesus moment, and as painful as it will be, correct the situation before it is too late.
But that being said there will be the political opportunists that will want an election BEFORE the cheque arrives to pay for this wonderful event called COVID.
And pay we will, all of us.
Bushmoose........Meghan was referencing a poet that wrote about the common Irish family (poor, common and humble) but yet he came from a wealthy family - daddy was a lawyer and mommy came from a wealthy ship building family.
........I wonder who that sounds like? Justin perhaps?
I,am afraid I did not express myself very clearly trying for a brief reply. What I meant by saying that is having a minority party
curtailed is good for democracy and if the NDP holds that balance it helps with checks and balances. It would be a bad time for an election and I very much doubt the NDP would go that route.
At this point in time,I agree. People are broke, scared and very angry which colors their thought processes leading to irrational,knee-jerk reactions. An election under these circumstances will not end well. We only need to look south of the border to see what kind of shyte show awaits us if we make the same mistakes.
What makes you think we would not make the same mistakes at a normal time...

After Bob Rae's disaster for Ontario it should be no surprise. They don't seem to get in on the Soros/Tides millions in funding too, only the delusional would think they don't have an impact after the recent elections reports.
"Foreign money funnelled towards Canadian political advocacy groups affected the outcome of the 2015 federal election, according to a document filed last week with Elections Canada and obtained in part by the Calgary Herald.
The 36-page report entitled: Elections Canada Complaint Regarding Foreign Influence in the 2015 Canadian Election, alleges third parties worked with each other, which may have bypassed election spending limits – all of which appears to be in contravention of the Canada Elections Act.
The Canada Elections Act states that “a third party shall not circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, a limit set out … in any manner, including by splitting itself into two or more third parties for the purpose of circumventing the limit or acting in collusion with another third party so that their combined election advertising expenses exceed the limit.”
“Electoral outcomes were influenced,” alleges the report."
and of course Tides/Soros are at the top.
More lies than you can count....

His first key points last week when it will make Canada safer by banning guns design to kill only people.
Save lives by suicide and domestic violence.
Not really sure how many people actually commit suicide by the gun but I'm thinking the majority in Canada are not. I know a couple of them and they were both rope.
Domestic shootings I only know of one. Was a guy down the Rd across the Rd from my wife's old place. But I do here of a few every year. One in Peterborough last year I think at giant Tiger was a shotgun it's not banned . .

Look at Canada's direction, self defence is bad, owning firearms is bad, even asking questions is bad (Freeland) .... The British are using the same babble.... "Ban the knife, save a life" .... knife drop offs etc ... what else should be in government control to save lives ... all firearms, followed by knives, then bats, hammers, vans, sticks, cars, rocks?
People will trade rights, freedoms and almost anything to feel safe... "FEEL" safe .... the reality is if you look at the world it is not a feeling based on reality. That impression is just their way to gain power "their chance"... "their opportunity", create fear then use it to take away what the government intends ....
seems like elites and serfs will be the end result.
All politicians play fast and loose with facts, but,Blair flat out lied his face off while testifying to a Parliamentary committee. Even for a Liberal,I find this quite shocking, really. Lying to Parliament is a damn serious offense. Blair may have just gotten himself into a whole world of shyte.
White trash..
