New sabotless bullet on the market for 50 cal shooters

Folks, this is one I have been waiting for.

The bullet offered is a 325 grain star tip ML available from arrowhead sporting goods.

These bullets start out as a .500 diameter projectile and are knurled to 503 diameter. They will also stand up to smokeless just fine. Veggie wads are available as well.

If you want to get fancy an adjustable smooth form Swiglock Die in 50 cal is also available.

Very promising and could make a heck of a difference in available range.

I am going to order a box to try in a stock savage smokeless 10ml-II. Apparently they make very consistently small groups. Anybody that wants to save shipping can jump in on my order.

I see they have them priced rather resonably too...$50 for a lot of 50.... mind you a package of the veggie wads, exchange and s/h will add some. Still not bad it it performs as advertised.

You see any range data on them yet ?

Would be interesting to see how they compare to maxi's for the traditional BP guns.

Apparently they have a B.C. of .21 which is pretty darn good. Bonded bullet as well.

I’ve asked for real world results from folks who have tried them. Let’s see what they say.

Well it turns out the savage 10ml I picked up has a greater than 503 bore. I had to knurled them up a bit and when I did that I got half MOA.

Not wanting to knurl so I’m changing barrel to 45.

I did push them to 2508 fps.

What was your distance 100yrds and group size just wondering

No these are sabotless 501 bullets factory knurled to 503..

Barrel is over 503 so I knurled them a bit more - 504 + did the trick but not something you want to have to do as it is difficult to be consistent .

Just wondering that's far I have when I knurl that a dame tooth doesn't come off and destroy my barrel

Not solid copper - bonded to lead core.

Very cool. I'm still using .300gr xtp's in my Savage 10ML ii. Just imagine how much better my groups would be if I used a quality projectile like that... :)

I think it would make it so much more consistent.

Quick update, the ml I tested has gone to my buddy and we put a nice Brux barrel on it.

Another ml came to my attention with a 6500 scope I was looking for so I sprang for it.

Checked the bore an bullets are a very snug fit!

Now we will see how it shoots with these new bullets.

Tried several different powders and charges and could not get on a 24x36 inch paper at 50 yards.

Went back to crushed rib with a 300 grain pill and had it tuned in with 3 shots.
