No word of a lie...skiff of snow down this morning, walking the dogs, just after first light and I heard a gobble across the neighbour's field. Didn't see him, but I know where he is HaHa..
Just did my last coyote hunt this morning and the bird was gobbling at the coyote caller.
Nice. I can’t believe the green grass. I was blasting through 2 foot drifts with the sled on the weekend. HaHa
No kidding. This farm is in Niagara and the grass in the back of his fields is looking better than the grass on my front lawn. Because of the crappy spring we had last this same farmer did not plant anything in his fields last year and I was surprised how quickly the fields grew over. By the time bow season came around the grass in some parts of his fields were well over 6' tall. I was not sure how it would effect the deer hunt but that was the best season we had so far.
Nice... but that sure looks like MY field.
Length of season is definitely inverted from us haha. Well, still love the winter for now. But starting to think about retirement and that kind of temperature sure is tempting. Not sure if I can afford house with acreage in those parts though. HaHa.
Unfortunately, I think that boat has sailed. I have been looking and for anything decent you are over the $1MM mark for a house with anything >25acres of both field and bush. My buddy just bought the farm beside his and for the land only (80 acres - 40 workable and 40 bush) he paid $750,000
Look east towards Kingston or if you are OK with the flats look to SW Ontario. If you really want to pull the trigger New Brunswick or Nova Scotia have some amazing deals but their winters are TOUGH.
Wow that’s crazy. Every thing I find so far in SW that I can afford is underwater most of the time in a conservation area were you can’t build. I just sold a nice place around the Ottawa Valley. Neighbours were not too friendly and one was crazy.
Might still look around that area as price are lower.
Thanks for your help.
