Fed Issue #24 - provide your say on election reform
https://www.mydemocracy.ca/survey
Remember we have a liar and essentially an illegal immigrant (Maryam Monsef) leading it, an idiot and dictatorship loving PM (Justin Poodeau) so read the questions carefully. Questions like should you have a second choice are clearly intended to guarantee that the Libs would be almost impossible to get rid of... think about it, if you didn't want the libs in power, the NDP would be less appealing so who would be your second choice, so if 80% said Lib were the second choice but they only got 20% first choice, then a gov't with "proper" representation of choices would be.... got it now?
Later I will see if I can find the video of the slimy way this could work that was suggested by some Liberals.... probably Butts is involved.
P.S.
I found a few articles, no time to read them but the titles seem about right.

Winning an election is not the most important thing to a politician – it is the only one!
Now add to that that we deal with a true carrier-politician (someone who could not make a carrier in anything else) and you know that he will do absolutely anything

this is really an interesting survey. got the card in the mail the other day and just did it.
if you don't know what the new proposals are that float around; i.e. "crippling democracy" and "can't get rid of JT - ever", some "innocent" questions disguised by the right wording might prompt some rather emotional response in some.
the good part of the survey is that at the end of the survey you get a nice chart that shows one's opinion compared to "types" and others. a scandalmonger could say, nobody wants to be alienated and in order to be part of the herd, some rather change their opinion
I find it a good source of information: I found it interesting to see how little people are interested in their liberty to vote. Think of the census form, and you know that $500 and three months jail would be the least if you don't cast your ballot. Add to that that in Canada preferential voting is going to favour only one party.
Hhm, what country forces you to vote, but in the end the outcome is already certain? Right, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (i.e. North Korea)
But don't worry too much, the NDP is pushing their agenda on the reform, and some questions really focus on how fair it would be for smaller parties gaining power. Yes, it is more democratic, but before hailing the concept of compromise for the sake of compromise (like many have done in the survey), one should look around where similar systems are implemented.
It has been used intentionally to completely CRIPPLE governments. Don't believe it? So, what government was "given" to Germany after WW2 and why?
So, now look at it a bit more: The majority of people there are left centre, but the most right major party is left centre (think of Angela Merkel) and everything else that matters is far left of that, and their policies heavily influence the big players (both in election and government). So, ask yourself is such system is representative of the people? If you really have difficulties answering that, look at the migrant crisis there
Our system has flaws (democracy is not perfect), but IMHO it is better than the other options currently favoured by some political elites.

JT has a majority so will make sure he benefits while he still has it. This is not about improving the democratic process. It's about gaming the system to ensure liberal rule in perpetuity. If it was about democracy they would hold a referendum. They are refusing to do so. Nuff said.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

yup, has absolutely nothing to do with being more democratic at all.
ironically, JT got elected by people who didn't like his policies, but only wanted to get rid of Harper after nearly 10 years.
so, if it were for the people, we would talk about what the maximum term for a PM should be.
but no, our current government will do the exact opposite!!!
ah, but look at the bright side: they haven't started replacing their own people yet (unlike Sweden or Germany). In light of that reducing the voter age and forced online voting along with shifting the overall odds in their favour by changing our democracy does sound rather appealing.

If Monsef was treated the same as any other Canadian her citizenship would be revoked and she would be deported. She is Canada under false information. Then again Libranos don't have to follow the laws right?
