Hi Everyone,
Hoping to get some help .. I'm planning on coming up this weekend. Anyone recommend a place to stay for the night (motel/lodge type) and general locations to go out from? I'm planning on bringing my sled for transportation so am hoping I can access the lake from an easily accessible launch location and close to good waters for whitefish and lake trout.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Stay safe and tight lines!
Chris

Hey Chris,
In town you can stay at either Temagami Shores or at Northland Paradise Lodge. You can access Lake Temagami right from town or drive down the access road and access the main lake from there. Really there are hundreds of spots to fish on Temagami. I'd go run and gun style. On the east side of Hwy 11 there is Cassel's and Rabbit lake, fishing is good there to. Good luck!

Hay Jeff
We are up next week and staying in the bungalow
How has the fishing at the bungalow? As we don't have sleds to move around.
Our last time up with Bruce was very slow as the weather changed drastically
Bruce had to drop down the tail gate on the truck at the bungalow door as we tossed our stuff in on our last day.
There must have been 3 to 6 inches of water all over ice and around the bungalow.

Hey Mack
Right now the lake is slushy and melting down with this warm weather. Should tighten up tonight with the bit of cold we have coming. The fishing here has been good to very good when the weather has been cold but when it is warm and wet the fishing has been poor. Unfortunately our fishing is controlled by the weather. There have been the odd warm day where the fishing has been ok but few. We have seen more people spooled by big fish this year then the last few years all together. The walleye and whitefish fishing has been better this year then the last few and our open water season was the best in over 12 years. Also seeing more ling caught and bigger ones so far this year. Average lake trout season so far with a few more caught but not as many large fish. Good luck

Just got back from the South Arm . Tamar Island....A big thanks to Bruce, Jeff and Anne.....they have a great setup...a must to experience. Great place and great fishing for us. (group of 4) Sleds will help you catch more fish as you have access to the back lakes and main lake which we did. But we did well in their huts too. Pickerel were caught in 22F0W and 47FOW. The morning bite was better, we kept 10 pickerel the largest being 26 inches. A 36 inch pike was caught and released. Throw in a few Lakers and all is good. Chubs worked better than pinheads. Cheers. NOTL group.
