I use the Dogtra 2502 T/B 2 dog unit . Nick is needed for the JRT often. No problems with the unit for many years. Only problem is making sure I change the tab to the right dog.

I don't think I will be using the shock aspect of the collar very much- mostly I can see using it if she corners a porky or a skunk or heads for the road. She is not a very hard dog to work with at least not so far. My problem has been that bells on the collar do not seem to carry very far and when she is pointing she is often impossible to see.

I've been happy with this bell from GDS, Flewelling Nickel medium range, seems easy to hear out to 100 yards or so in combination with the T&B for locate/point.

Hey!! The Jack Russell Terrier ( no longer called that actually) is a wonderful , independent , fun loving dog - not for first time dog owners. It is the most common dog in dog shelters as it so cute, but more than most people can handle. I rescue them often.

The reason he gets the "nick" is because he likes to hide in the bush and wait for the setter to run by at which time he wants to grab the setter . NOT allowed so gets the well timed nick. Great rabbit dog.
