I wonder how they'd feel if someone was executed and an hour later was found to be innocent? Personally,I don't have the faith in the legal system to trust it.

Right....eyewitness evidence is some of the least reliable.

In this day and age with forensic investigating, DNA results etc., do you seriously even consider that it could happen? not bloody likely!

Oh,no,on the contrary. They biggest fallacy in the entire world of law enforcement and jurisprudence is that forensic science and DNA technology is infallible. It's only as good as the people gathering evidence and technicians processing it. Too many errors are showing up in too many trials.

Lots of cases where forensics have nabbed the wrong person. Not usually DNA related but lots of cases where hair, teeth marks, tracks etc.. have been used incorrectly. Even DNA though can have issues:

Even in war lives are taken by friendly fire, it happens, and it's unfortunate that it does, but it happens. But if there is no capital punishment, where is the deterrent. The way I see it, an eye for an eye if there's no undisputed evidence that say's otherwise...

So friendly fire is ok? What if it is your brother or sister that was killed with friendly fire? Are you ok with that?

Now, your brother or sister is killed by the state because they look like someone who committed a horrible crime and they were picked out of a lineup, are you ok with this?
