Buying a new moose gun

I really like my Ruger Gunsite Scout in .308. Not a featherweight, but a fast handling bolt gun topped with a Leupold FX2-2.5x28. I find the intermediate eye relief scope a real improvement over my other 3x9's. The .308 will do almost everything the .30/06 will do, especially inside 150m. I find the 10 round magazine a plus too, keeps the extra rounds from clinking together in my coat pocket.

I ended up getting a Lazerguard in 300 wby mag. On sale today at Cabelas. I put a Vortex Viper 3x9-40 on it. Just need an adult tag

Isn't a 10 round mag illegal in Canada for a .308.

If it was a semi-automatic, yes. The Ruger Gunsite Scout is a bolt action gun. The magazine capacity on bolt action guns is not limited.

Nope, not for a bolt action. Auto loaders yes. Figure a .30/.30 Winchester holds 7 in the tube and 1 in the chamber and you are not far off.
